After the X-owner publicly attacked Trump on his social media platform and claimed that he was the “real reason” why the U.S. federal investigators were not releasing the alleged Epstein files, Owens replied to Elon’s tweet. The 36-year-old political commentator called out the tech billionaire and owner of Tesla and Starlink in her tweet.

She slammed Elon Musk for being friends with the U.S. President, saying:

“'Trump is implicated alongside a pedophile, and I knew it but didn’t care because we were friends' is not the flex you think it is.”

Notably, on June 6, 2025, Musk implied in his X post that the 47th president of the United States was on Jeffrey Epstein's list. According to The Guardian, the Tesla owner mocked Donald Trump for his connections to the convicted s*x offender Jeffrey Epstein after he threatened to cut subsidies for Elon’s companies.

Musk’s Jeffrey Epstein remarks reportedly came after a vindictive online feud that erupted between the two recently. The duo, as per The Guardian, has been careful not to touch personal topics, however, they broke that on Thursday on their respective social media platforms.

Meanwhile, although Elon Musk did not provide any evidence to back his tweet, the billionaire also re-shared a video post on his social media platform featuring the U.S. President and Jeffrey Epstein enjoying a party.

Jeffrey Epstein’s relationship with Donald Trump explored

Donald Trump and late convicted s*x offender Jeffrey Epstein have been fixtures of wealthy social circles according to The New York Times. Notably, in an interview with New York magazine in the year 2002, the U.S. President talked about his relationship with Epstein.

Calling him a “terrific guy,” Donald, in the same interview, said he had known Epstein for 15 years. However, in 2019, after the now-deceased financier was arrested, the president reportedly distanced himself, saying:

Notably, in February 2025, Attorney General Pam Bondi reportedly released “Phase 1” of the Epstein files.

As per The Guardian, the U.S. attorney general, while releasing the documents, said:

“This Department of Justice is following through on President Trump’s commitment to transparency and lifting the veil on the disgusting actions of Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirators.”

Notably, Epstein files are the alleged collection of documents containing the activities of Jeffrey Epstein, compiled by U.S. federal authorities. After Ms. Bondi released 'Phase 1', she and the FBA director, Kash Patel, have faced pressure to release the remaining investigative documents, the 'Phase 2' of the s*x trafficking documents surrounding Jeffrey Epstein.

Jeffrey Epstein was an American financier. Born and raised in New York City, he rose to become a multimillionaire. He was arrested in July 2019 and charged with s*x trafficking of minors and conspiracy to commit s*x trafficking of minors. He died in a federal New York prison cell by suicide on August 10, 2019, while awaiting trial on those charges.
