The much-anticipated second part of America’s Got Talent Quarterfinals was finally released on August 20. It saw 11 acts giving their best on the Live Shows stage as they vied for the limited finale spots. These also included 3 Golden Buzzer-winning acts- Schumacher, Sky Elements, and Legion.

Fans knew that out of the 4 acts that would advance to the finals, one would get a Golden Buzzer, pushing them straight to the finals without stopping to compete in the semi-finals. Airfoorworks, a Japanese aerial dance cum acrobatics group earned the deserving buzzer.

Airfootworks, for their Live Shows performance, chose to perform to Ed Sheeran's Celestial. They did an aerial act with a metal bar, and one person did a smooth breakdance routine at the bottom.

It was Howie's turn to press the Golden Buzzer this week, but Simon attempted to press it for the Airfootworks. He got interrupted by Howie who rushed to press it first because he wanted the credit of sending the group to the finals. He succeeded because his hand reached the buzzer first.

Fans of America’s Got Talent rushed to X to talk about how deserving the Japanese dance group's win was. While many applauded their performance, a few commented on the moment Simon tried to steal Howie's Golden Buzzer. A fan wrote:

"AIRFOOTWORKS might be my favorite act of the night so far I couldn’t look away."
"Airfootworks could be one of the last acts standing! This performance was outstanding and gave me goosebumps," another viewer wrote.
"No doubt about it @howiemandel got a good golden buzzer in Airfootworks #AGT!" a comment read.
"Howie hit the golden buzzer on Airfootworks a well-deserved golden buzzer too," another person said.

A lot of the America’s Got Talent fans flocked to X specifically to praise Airfootworks' talent. They were also happy about the fact that they won the coveted Golden Buzzer on Live Shows.

"Wow, That was an awesome performance by Airfootworks, They are incredible tonight during the live shows this week," another user wrote.
"GOLDEN BUZZER ALERT! @howiemande has pressed it for @airfootworks!" one comment read.
"So incredibly talented. @airfootworks always delivers!" another person wrote.

More about Japanese dance group Airfootworks from America’s Got Talent season 19

It is not the first time Airfootworks has set foot on a Got Talent show. They participated in season 1 of Japan's Got Talent in 2023 and even made it to its finale. Formed by Takashi Jonishi, the group is currently mentored by Kenichi Ebina, who some fans might remember winning on season 8 of America’s Got Talent.

After his season 8 win, Kenichi also appeared on America’s Got Talent: The Champions, but was eliminated in the preliminaries. He not only mentored Airfootworks but also founded another dance group named UniCircle Flow, which performed on season 16 of the show.

As stated on the group's website, Airfootworks' description reads:

"This is a one-of-a-kind dance that gives people watching it the impression of weightlessness, as if the performer is walking in mid-air."

For their audition performance on the American stage, the Japanese dance group chose to do a routine on Where Are You Now by Justin Beiber. They got a "yes" from all four judges which brought them to the Quarterfinals. After their Live Shows performance as well, they got a standing ovation from all four judges.

Quarterfinals 2 results will be announced in the next episode, i.e. episode 12, which will air on August 21, on NBC, at 8 pm ET.
