1000-Lb. Sisters season 7 episode 8, titled Her Turkey Gobler's Gone, premiered on TLC on June 10, 2025. In this episode, Tammy went through her skin removal surgery, aimed at taking out additional weight from her body.
While Amy was present for her sister at the hospital after her surgery was over, she left soon after, claiming that Amanda, Chris, and Tammy disrespected her. Amy then claimed that she has been getting such treatment from her family members ever since her arrest, even stating that they don't care about her.
The disrespect referred to by Amy was mainly Amanda criticizing her for farting, and Chris and Tammy recording a video of her while she was asleep.
I personally believe this was a small issue, and Amy shouldn't have made it a big deal by unnecessarily bringing up her arrest and claiming that her family doesn't care for her. I feel that Amy was using her arrest and its trauma to gain sympathy while sliding it as an excuse for her leaving Tammy after the latter's surgery.
Furthermore, this wasn't the first time Amy acted this way. Earlier in the season, as the 1000-Lb. Sisters star prepared for her court hearing, her family gathered to discuss the best plan moving forward.
However, Amy felt ashamed about her arrest, and seeing her family come together to talk about the situation made her feel targeted. She feared it was an intervention and left the meeting immediately without even listening to what it was about, claiming that everyone was there to mock her and criticize her for the incident.
I believe that ever since Amy was arrested for illegal possession of controlled substances and bitten by a camel, she has been acting very defensive. She has been constantly mentioning the incidents and using them as an excuse to mask any of her mistakes or to avoid even the smaller family confrontations or problems.
Amy even brought up her arrest at the end of the latest episode 8, guilt-tripping Tammy into feeling bad for not attending her wedding ceremony and leaving her 'after everything she had to go through.'
1000-Lb. Sisters star Amy vents about her family to her fiancé Brian
In 1000-Lb. Sisters season 7 episode 8, Amy called her fiancé Brian to pick her up from the hospital after Tammy was discharged.
During the ride back home, she took the opportunity to throw shade at her family, accusing them of disrespecting her. She also shared in her confessional that she was happy about going back home because she was just about to blow out one of the family members who disrespected her.
Amy then told Brian about the text she received from Tammy, who criticized her for leaving so soon after her surgery.
"As soon as I got into the airport, I got message after message from Tammy yelling at me how I abandoned her and this and that. I left, I gave up, I'm the baby, I'm the b*tch, I'm the dumb**s. And she wouldn't even hear me out," she said.
The 1000-Lb. Sisters star added:
"I was with Tammy when she had her surgery. But in the back of my mind, I'm like, why am I here when she won't even come to my wedding? Amanda did leave, but I was there when she woke up, so she can't say I wasn't. Even though she was doped up and stuff, she knew I was going home. But this morning she b*tched me the f**k out."
Later during the drive with Brian, the 1000-Lb. Sisters star reflected on her arrest and the camel incident, admitting that she has felt like the 'black sheep' of the family ever since. She even went as far as saying that she doesn’t feel like she has siblings anymore.
Amy further shared that she believes her family members have been criticizing her every single move.
"They're getting onto me about everything. Breathing funny, sleeping, eating. I can't do anything right," she shared in her confessional.
