Too Hot to Handle Spain season 1 premiered on Netflix on June 13. The reality show introduced a fresh group of single contestants trying to find their ideal partner.
By the end of the season, while some couples continued to strengthen their connections, others reached a breaking point, most notably Cris and Andrea. Cris was uncomfortable with the fact that Andrea had kissed Carlos and might have developed feelings for him.
After spending some time reflecting on the situation, he pulled Andrea aside for a conversation at the beginning of episode 8 and ended their relationship, saying that she let him down.
"I wanna tell you something. I really opened up a lot to you. And I think you let me down. And the truth is that this… I'm gonna be honest. Right now, I don't think that we can move forward," he told Andrea.
Too Hot to Handle Spain star Cris confronts Andrea over her actions
Cris and Andrea had an instant connection when they first met on Too Hot to Handle Spain. Andrea told Cris that she saw him as an "attractive guy." Meanwhile, Cris shared in a confessional that he felt something with Andrea that he hadn't felt in a while.
Things soon began to become rocky between the couple after Carlos showed interest in Andrea and took her on a date.
Before going on the date, Andrea asked Cris to trust her. In response, he told her that he does trust her and later even shared with other fellow contestants that he wasn't worried about his Too Hot to Handle Spain partner at all.
When Andrea returned from the date, she assured Cris that nothing had happened between her and Carlos. She said that they just went swimming and he had nothing to worry about. However, she later revealed in front of everyone that she had kissed Carlos.
Cris was left worried about his connection with Andrea and wondered if there was still any future with his Too Hot to Handle Spain partner. However, after some thoughtful thinking, he decided to end things with her.
At the start of episode 8, Cris pulled Andrea aside for a conversation, saying he wanted to clear the air between them. He told her that he had opened up to her emotionally and felt let down by her actions. Without wasting any time, he told her they couldn’t move forward as a couple and ended the relationship on the spot.
Andrea admitted that she had made a mistake and said that she would always regret what happened. She apologized and later shared in her confessional that she didn't tell Cris about what happened between her and Carlos because she was "afraid." She said that she still had feelings for her partner and felt "ashamed" of her actions.
"I didn't expect this. It makes me so sad because honestly, this had to happen to me, to realize that I have feelings for you. And if you don't wanna keep going, then I get it. But I was ready to keep fighting for you," Andrea further told Cris.
The Too Hot to Handle Spain star continued,
"I thought you were gonna say, "Okay, Andrea, let's give it a try. I'm not gonna close the door. I'll give you a chance. You could try to win me back." At least that way you would've left me an opening to try and come back to you."
When Andrea hinted that she wanted another chance, Cris turned her down, saying that he wouldn't be able to trust her if they chose to continue as a couple.
