"Watching my five-year-old son putting Lego together"— Gordon Ramsay's Secret Service's Chef Ramsay criticizes Chef Mike
In Gordon Ramsay's Secret Service season 1 episode 4, Gordon Ramsey entered the MacGregor's restaurant undercover through the basement and walked into the refrigerator. He found chili that had developed mold along with frozen packs of mac and cheese, shrimps, and crabs.
The frozen seafood produce shocked Gordon Ramsay since the restaurant was seaside, and he continued his investigation. After finding out several health hazards, the Gordon Ramsay's Secret Service frontrunner surveilled the establishment through a dog grooming van parked outside.
Through cameras, the reality television personality saw that head chef Mike canceled a pasta dish, and the owner, Stephanie, failed to take control of the situation.
Gordon Ramsay also saw that Mike was using the same grill to cook chicken and shrimp, resulting in concerning cross-contamination. He confronted him about the same. He reminded the MacGregor's chef that he was the head chef as he criticized his working style.
"Watching you is like watching my five-year-old son putting Lego together," he said.
He reminded Mike that he was defrosting protein, cross-contaminating it, and serving it for the customers to consume. He asked the head chef if he knew what he was doing and whether he knew what a shellfish allergy was. Seeing Mike hesitate, Chef Ramsay explained what would typically happen to someone who had a shellfish allergy if they consumed shellfish.
"It means your throat could close up, heart palpitations, seizures. I'm just glad you haven't f*cking killed anybody," he added.
Fans online reacted to Chef Mike's negligent behavior and criticized him for cooking chicken and shrimp on the same grill.
