MasterChef season 15 aired a brand new episode this week on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, on Fox. The episode featured the selected duos competing in their first challenge of the season, which had a dinner party theme. Although all 12 teams participated in the challenge, only the top three and the bottom three dishes were tasted.
Zach & Michelle's Moules-Frites with Mussels, Green Curry Broth, and Nori & Lime Dusted Fries clinched the win, while Kevin and Trey's Cajun Seafood Pasta with Shrimp, Scallops, and Mussels led to their elimination from the competition.
Fans of MasterChef season 15 took to social media to comment on the challenge and the results, expressing their disappointment over the dishes and the elimination. One person wrote on X:
"How come the vegans complaining about cooking meat on a competition show?" a fan commented.
"Not sure how Tonna and Cait thought a theme of "Elevated Dinner Party" would apply to a burger and fries..." a tweet read.
MasterChef season 15 fans reacted to the latest elimination online:
"kevin thinks cooking with his hair down gonna make the food taste better," a person wrote.
"Not surprised Kevin and Trey were eliminated. Trey was struggling with the pasta and it never came together," a fan commented.
"The pasta from Trey looked tore up," a tweet read.
Fans of MasterChef season 15 further said:
"Seriously?. Wrong team went home tonight. Maybe they did struggle but at least they met the challenge. How are you keeping girls who served all corn and another team that served a fast food special ?. it should have been one of them. Ridiculous," a person wrote.
"Lots of errors on this dinner party dish," a fan commented.
What happened in MasterChef season 15 episode 4?
In MasterChef season 15 episode 4, the judges informed the dynamic duos of their first challenge of the season. The episode marked the first one after the auditions concluded and the top 12 were selected. However, by the end of Wednesday's episode, the top 12 had been narrowed down to the top 11 as one dynamic duo was eliminated after a dinner party challenge.
Gordon Ramsay told the cooks they had one hour to present the judges with a restaurant-quality dish and also revealed that not every dish would be tasted. After touring the kitchen as the chefs cooked, the judges deliberated and chose the six dishes they wanted to be served. This included the top 3 and the bottom 3 dishes.
The Top 3 were Tina and Aivan, who made a Bun Thit Nu'ong with vermicelli noodles, lemongrass pork, pickled daikon, and carrots with a garlic vinaigrette. Zach and Michelle made Moules-Frites with mussels, green curry broth, and nori and lime-dusted fries, while Adam and Joel made skirt steak tacos with corn tortillas, green tomato salsa, peach, and habanero hot sauce, and charro beans.
Zach and Michelle earned the most praise and became the winners of the first MasterChef season 15 challenge. Meanwhile, Kevin and Trey, Darce and Courtney, and Tonna and Cait found themselves at the bottom.
Kevin and Trey made Cajun seafood pasta with shrimp, scallops, and mussels, which did not impress the judges.
"This dish is an epic fail," Joe commented.
Darce and Courtney made corn pasta with corn sauce, corn ribs, and corn breadcrumbs, while Tonna and Cait presented the judges with a cheeseburger with bason and date jam, along with spicy mayo, fries, and an arugula salad. Ultimately, Kevin and Trey's dish was the least impressive, leading them to become the first team to be eliminated from MasterChef season 15.
Tune in on Wednesday, June 18, to watch episode 5 of MasterChef season 15 on Fox.
