The Real Housewives of Potomac season 9 aired episode 8, titled, Healing, Thriving, and Surviving, on Sunday, November 24, 2024. The segment saw Mia Thornton tell the rest of the cast about her and Inc's recent argument with Gordon during which Mia's ex-husband expressed his discomfort filming with the couple.
Mia told the cast there was a lot going on and that Gordon was "going through mania." She told them about the fight and that he called her an "adulterer" and told Inc that she had an abortion by him.
Fans of the reality show reacted to the conversation and were critical of Mia talking about Gordon's mental health issues. One person wrote on X:
"The way Mia is villainizing Gordon’s mental illness is making me uncomfortable. Mia taking blame off of her with all her lying mess and blaming it all on G’s mental health is gross."
"Mia acting like Gordon just crazy all of a sudden, b*tch I would have lost my mind too if my wife was out here getting abortions from another man and had me raising the side dude’s kid as my own. She needs her a** beat!" a fan commented.
"Mia wants to act like she’s innocent in her whole mess & using Gordon’s mental issue as being the problem. Mia has a whole little a** side piece, parading him around in front of her kids, but Gordon is the problem?" a tweet read.
Fans of The Real Housewives of Potomac felt Mia was trying to "manipulate" and "gaslight" Gordon:
"gordon is the only 1 i feel bad for in the whole situation with mia. she’s weaponizing his mental illness against him. trying to gaslight & manipulate him for a storyline. this woman knows no low. she’s also the BIGGEST LIAR to the point of being slanderous and defamatory," a person wrote.
"I fear if Gordon wasn’t having his own issues, Mia wouldn’t have a storyline. She literally airs out all their dirty laundry unprovoked at the drop of a dime," a fan commented.
"Gordon doesn’t sound like he’s in a manic state. Gordon sounds like he’s sick of Mia parade Ink around in front of him. BUT, this is that 3 -some life that Gordon liked. He can’t have it both ways even tho Mia’s very comfortable with it," a tweet read.
Fans of The Real Housewives of Potomac season 9 further said:
"Is Gordon in mania or is Gorfon sick of Mia's bullsh*t?!" a person wrote.
"Another week of Mia using Gordon’s mental health to dodge accountability and deflect from the fact that she is just a disgusting person," a fan commented.
"It's too much"— The Real Housewives of Potomac star Gizelle chimes in on Mia talking about Gordon's mental health issues
In The Real Housewives of Potomac season 9 episode 8, Mia told the cast about her and Inc's recent argument with Gordon. She told them he was going through mania and explained some of the things he said.
She told them that after the fight, Inc told her he would "remove" himself from the situation if he was a "trigger" for Gordon. She told the cameras that Gordon didn't understand that his illness impacted her, their children, and their family.
Several cast members commented on the situation while in a confessional. While Ashley felt bad for Mia, The Real Housewives of Potomac season 9 star Gizelle was unhappy with Mia talking about Gordon's issues.
"Mia, girl, I don't know what kind of a scenario you're trying to establish but this is like, not cool for me. It's not exciting, it's not tea, it's not drama. It's too much," Gizelle said.
Fans of the Bravo reality show agreed with Gizelle and criticized Mia online for the same. They felt she was using Gordon's mental health issues for a storyline.
