Vanderpump Rules is getting a reboot for season 12 with a new set of cast members, something that former cast member Lala Kent is excited to see. Bravo issued a press release on November 16 announcing that they have scrapped the entire cast of the Emmy-nominated reality TV show and that there's a "new group of close-knit Sur-vers" for season 12.
In Scheana Shay's Friday, November 29, episode of Scheananigans podcast, Lala Kent joined her former castmate to talk about the season 12 reboot of their long-running show. She said:
"I feel like we've graduated. It's not the same."
Lisa Vanderpump will be in it, but OG cast members and series regulars like Tom Sandoval, Scheana Shay, Lala Kent, Raquel Leviss, and more won't return. However, despite not being part of the series anymore, Kent says she's excited to see the new group. She said:
"Nothing lasts forever, and I'm really excited to see this group of new young [people] just excited about life."
Lala Kent also hopes to see more drama in the Vanderpump Rules reboot, telling Shay that she wants the new cast to embrace the show's roots. She hopes that they "f*ck each other" and have "f*cking meltdowns."
Lala Kent remembers her time in Vandrpump Rules now that she won't be coming back for season 12
In her appearance on Scheana Shay's Scheananigans podcast on Friday, Lala Kent admitted that she has no ill feelings about being scrapped from the Vanderpump Rules cast. She said:
"It's all f*cking good. I know what this show did for me and my life, and it completely changed it."
She looked back at her time in the Bravo reality series fondly but also noted that she thought that her time was up in the show. Kent said:
"There was nothing left to say. The story was done. And I think I've said that for quite a while. There's no more story to tell with this group of people."
Facing the end of the show, Kent added that she felt an "intense bond" with her former castmates but admitted that they "probably don't feel the same way." However, she said she only looks back at her time in the series as that "24-year-old [who joined the show] in the craziest of worlds and then getting sober," and stated that she won't remember any of the bad parts.
Elsewhere in her Scheananigans podcast interview, Lala Kent had some words to share with the new group of Sur-vers coming in season 12. She said:
"As excited as I am for these new Vanderpumpers, I'm like, 'You guys have really big shoes to fill.'"
The reality TV star added that there were "so many authentic connections" that happened in the 11-season run of Vanderpump Rules, which she said doesn't happen very often. Kent also encourages the new cast members to "take advantage" of their time in the series because nothing is permanent.
Both Lala Kent and Scheana Shay admitted in the podcast that they "knew" that the reboot news would be coming and that they had been "waiting for that moment. While there is still no confirmation when season 12 is coming, Bravo said in the press release that production will start next year, with the official cast members announced soon.
