Rhythm + Flow season 2 introduced viewers to rappers competing for the grand prize of $250,000 and the title of hip-hop’s newest star. This season's judges, including DJ Khaled, Ludacris, and Latto, were seen guiding the contestants and deciding which ones were to be sent to the next round.
One of the rappers, Jaxs performed in front of the audience in the newly released episode 7. Her performance impressed the judges, especially Ludacris who praised her originality and storytelling ability through her rapping skills. He pointed out the fact that Jaxs was being "unapologetically herself" and judges would keep this in mind while choosing the contestants for the next round. Ludacris said:
"Well I just noticed is you were so unapologetically yourself with this song."
Rhythm + Flow season 2 episode 7 titled Be Good or Be Great was released exclusively on Netflix on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. The episode synopsis read:
"As the "Singles" round heats up, the remaining contestants aim to impress with their breakout performances. Who will advance and who will go home?"
Rhythm + Flow season 2 judge Ludacris' remarks on Jaxs' rap skills
In Rhythm + Flow season 2 episode 7, Jaxs' performance as well as her art impressed all judges. Ludacris commented on her rapping skills and storytelling through her act. While talking about his experience in the industry, Ludacris stated he knows when somebody is "not being themselves." He complimented Jaxs on embracing herself on stage, adding:
"I think with your performance when it comes to music, and we looking at artists whether they new or old, you can tell when somebody faking some sh*t and not being themselves, right. All I saw was pure who you are, and that's what this is about."
During her confessional interview, Jaxs talked about the importance of her debut artwork as it was the "representation" of who she was. Season 2 judge further stated that he was looking for uniqueness in each contestant and Jax just did that. He continued:
"We wanna know individuality. You just showed us who the f*ck you are out of billions."
Later in the episode, judges Khalid and Latto also mentioned that they saw Jaxs' improvement during her time in the competition series. Khalid added:
"Man, I love the artwork. You know, you had my attention out the gate. I was excited through the whole journey with you, you know, watching you, just each category from the cypher, from the battle, from the introduction."
The upcoming episode 8, set to release on December 4, 2024, will reveal whether Jax gets eliminated from the reality TV competition series or makes it to the very end.
