It's fair to say the IRL broadcasts of YouTube streamer Darren "IShowSpeed" get pretty wild at times. Such was the case during his latest stream in Belgium. For those unaware, Darren is currently touring Europe as part of his UEFA Euro 2024 expedition. He has already visited some European countries, including Germany, Italy, Albania, and Turkey.
His latest expedition in Belgium saw the streamer link up with some workers in Technopolis, a popular technology education center. During his visit there, he tried out the viral "Elephant Toothpaste" challenge (an experiment involving mixing catalase with hydrogen peroxide).
However, this almost ended up burning his skin. Despite the instructor directing him to step back as soon as he added the mixture, the streamer was too slow to react (he also wasn't wearing much protection), so some froth came in contact with him.
A visibly hurt Darren exclaimed:
"Ah! It burns! This sh*t burns! My shirt is burning!"
Not the first time a science experiment has gone wrong for IShowSpeed
IShowSpeed's on-screen antics frequently land him in various kinds of trouble. The streamer has a long history of causing chaos, particularly with his science experiments.
In October 2023, the streamer decided it would be a good idea to conduct the "Elephant Toothpaste" challenge in his bedroom. He likely mixed a disproportionate amount of hydrogen peroxide, which resulted in his entire room being filled with fumes.
In September 2022, the streamer attempted another concerning experiment. This time, he used a shot glass to create a suction effect for fuller lips. However, he left it on his lips for far too long, resulting in significantly swollen lips.
In May 2024, he streamed himself eating a bar of soap after seeing a reel about it online as a challenge. In reality, the reel showed someone eating a chocolate bar that looked like soap. This meant the streamer had duped himself into eating the soap.
IShowSpeed is currently touring various countries across Europe. However, he always returns to Germany (his base camp) to watch every Portugal game. Portugal has qualified for the Round of 16 and will play Slovenia on June 2, 2024, in the Frankfurt Arena. Hence, it is likely that he will stream there as well.
