Kai Cenat linked up with former Twitch streamer Ludwig Ahgren on November 25, 2024, for a $100K giveaway challenge. Ahgren moved to YouTube in 2021 and has been on the platform ever since, occasionally appearing in streams on the Amazon-owned platform and collaborating with creators.
On day 26 of his Mafiathon 2 24/7 marathon stream, just as he was informing his audience about a $100K giveaway, Kai Cenat revealed Ludwig as the mystery guest. It appears that the challenge was set up in collaboration with Ahgren. Later, the clip of Kai welcoming Ludwig to explain the giveaway went viral on social media.
What was the Ludwig x Kai Cenat $100K giveaway challenge?
While AMP is an Atlanta-based streaming group, Kai Cenat has been renting out a villa in Los Angeles for the duration of the Mafiathon 2 marathon. On November 26, 2024, the popular Twitch star announced that, with Ludwig, he would be doing a $100K man-hunt-based giveaway challenge for his viewers.
The challenge tasked viewers to try and locate the two content creators who moved to an unknown rooftop somewhere in Los Angeles. However, after the two traveled to the spot, the camera was hyper-zoomed at Kai's face and would only zoom out to show the surroundings if viewers subscribed.
This seemed like an innovative way to drive up subscriptions, even though Kai Cenat recently surpassed 500K subs on the platform.
In the clip above, Kai Cenat can be seen explaining how the giveaway was supposed to go, announcing:
"Here's the goal. Find me and win $100,000."
With the camera focused on Kai's face, Ludwig, who was out of the frame for the first couple of minutes, had a question about the zoom-in:
"They hear me, they don't see me. Why don't they see me yet?"
Kai Cenat explained how subscribing was part of the giveaway and answered Ludwig's question:
"Because, every time they sub the camera gets wider and wider and wider. The camera widens every single time there is a 1,000 subs that come in, chat. Every 1,000 subs, the camera will get wider, and wider, and wider. So, we are going to be ultimately revealing our location, I just want to point that out."
Ludwig added how the challenge would end when someone finds them in real life:
"So whoever is the first person in the world, no matter when. Doesn't matter if this takes us five minutes, if it takes us five hours, or if it takes us five days. We are here until somebody comes to us in real life in person and we will hand them the $100,000."
In just a couple of hours, a lucky fan found the duo and managed to win the challenge. The fan explained how he was driving near the area and was told about the challenge by his friends, who he would split the total winnings with.
