Jason "Thor" Hall, popularly known as "Pirate Software," has garnered attention on social media after allegations of emotional abuse and sexual exploitation were made against him. On June 9, 2025, X user Lyric (@LyricWulf) shared a 26-post thread alleging that Pirate Software emotionally abused and manipulated them for sexual and financial gain.

They also accused Jason's alleged friend and business partner, Shaye, also known as "RiverMakes" and "FISHBONES," of being a "willing accomplice" to the streamer's "silencing" of them:

"When I was 20 years old, Jason Thor Hall (aka PirateSoftware), aged 31 at the time, emotionally abused and manipulated me for sexual and financial gain. Thor’s actions had a severe impact on my life, causing me to give up being a uni student and a creator. Thor’s friend and business partner Shaye (aka RiverMakes, FlSHB0NES), aged 22 at the time—while at first sympathetic to my situation—would ultimately be a willing accomplice to Thor silencing me."

Pirate Software allegations: Twitch streamer accused of manipulating an individual into having a committed relationship

Lyric detailed an alleged incident from August 2018 in which they donated $800 to Pirate Software while he was livestreaming a game development session. Claiming that the content creator "suddenly expressed immense romantic interest in them" after this point, Lyric accused him of manipulation and gaslighting them:

"On August 26th, 2018, I would make a large donation of $800 to Thor while he was streaming the development of his game. From that moment onward, Thor suddenly expressed immense romantic interest with me. On the next day Thor would, unprovoked, initiate erotic roleplay with me. He started to shower me with affection, praise, and attention, making me feel special and valued (love bombing).

"However, when I would express any reluctance to commit to him and solely him, he would shame me by calling me corrupt or clueless. When I told him repeatedly that I was not interested in a committed relationship, Thor insisted that I change my mind, not taking “no” for an answer. He tried to gaslight me into believing that I was already implicitly committed to him and that I should just say yes."

Lyric also attached an alleged screenshot of their supposed text conversation:

Lyric then claimed that Pirate Software "constantly pushed" them to meet at TwitchCon 2018. Describing what reportedly happened at the streamer convention, Lyric alleged that the content creator's associate, Shaye, claimed that he had a "secret wife":

"We met up at TwitchCon 2018, as planned, on October 26. On the first day, we roamed with Shaye and some other streamers. By night, the group went to a bar, but I could not join since I was underage. Later that night, Thor excused himself from the bar to join me in my hotel room. On the second day, while we were roaming without Thor, Shaye mentioned that Thor has a “secret wife”. After we went back to Thor’s hotel room I messaged him asking about a wife, which he denied and blamed me for “misunderstanding”. Thor refused to talk, so I messaged Shaye."

Explaining why Shaye was supposedly "devastated," Lyric said:

"I explained my situation to Shaye. When asked if it was true, I sent screenshots of me guiding Thor to my room. Shaye was sympathetic and would tell me that they and Thor were sexual partners and had agreed to be open at the con as long as they communicated it with each other. Shaye was devastated that Thor broke their trust by sleeping with me, and messaged Thor about his uncommunicated infidelity. Thor blamed me and denied any involvement with either myself or Shaye. After I left the room, he blocked me."

Lyric went on to allege that when they eventually filed for a chargeback on the $800 donation they made in August 2018, Pirate Software called them out by name on X, labeling them as a "scammer." Lyric also accused the former Blizzard Entertainment employee of filing a DMCA strike against their YouTube channel.

Pirate Software was allegedly married for five years

In a follow-up X post, Lyric claimed that Pirate Software had been married for five years, from October 17, 2015, to February 18, 2020. They shared alleged screenshots of public records for marriage and divorce, adding that they had never leaked the Twitch streamer's phone number before:

"In reality: Thor was married from October 17, 2015 to February 18, 2020. I never leaked his phone number.Thor’s actions toward me were focused on financially exploiting me. He told the online community that I publicly leaked his phone number, even claiming that there were attacks. Members of his community would repeat this publicly, and Shaye would also use this as a reason to convince my partner to convince me to delete my posts. Thor was able to lie so confidently that even I would end up believing him. At the time I didn’t read back through the chat logs, so I didn’t know that his phone number wasn’t actually there."
