Post Malone was reportedly served with legal papers by his former fiancée two days before his second performance at Coachella 2025. The legal paperwork linked to the daughter's custody battle for child support emerged only days before the artist took the stage at one of the globe's biggest music events.
According to documents obtained by InTouch on Tuesday, April 22, the rapper was allegedly "tracked down" on April 18, 2025, at a Downtown Los Angeles apartment block by a "process server" hired by Hee Sung 'Jamie' Park to serve him paperwork.
Post Malone performed at Coachella on April 13, 2025, and again on April 20. Jamie and Malone filed individual petitions to establish custody over their daughter earlier this month.
According to Page Six, Post Malone filed his divorce papers in Utah since it was his initial destination with Jamie to care for their child together. Jamie, however, filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
During an Apple Music interview in July 2023, Malone opened up about personal changes he experienced as a father.
"Having a baby really put a lot into perspective and it's really slowed me down a lot, but it's, like, the most beautiful thing," Malone told the outlet at the time.
He continued:
"I just want to take a second and enjoy it. It's not about the destination. It's the journey. I never really got time or really had the bandwidth to experience the journey to its fullest. I guess that's what I'm trying to do now."
Malone has not revealed his requested custody arrangements, but Jamie filed for both sole physical custody and joint legal custody. InTouch asserts that the petition from Jamie outlined their daughter's residence between her birth and November 2024 with parents. Malone remains silent about the case while his representatives have not provided information about the nature of the dispute. The legal proceedings involving this issue are currently at an early stage.
A look at Post Malone and his former fiancée's relationship
Throughout his career, Post Malone has guarded his personal information about his romantic relationships, specifically those with his partner Hee Sung 'Jamie' Park.
Their relationship became known to the public after they were photographed at an airport in October 2020. In May 2022, the pair officially welcomed their daughter, referred to by her initials DDP. The birth of his child was confirmed by Post Malone in his June 2022 appearance on The Howard Stern Show.
In his September 2023 interview with CR Fashion Book for the Muses issue, the Circles rapper discussed why he decided to maintain secrecy regarding his daughter and his previous fiancée.
"I feel like a lot of people feel entitled to know every single detail of everyone's life, and it's why I don't want to post any pictures of my baby, because I want her to be able to make that decision whenever she wants to and is ready."
Malone and Jamie maintained their relationship until late 2024 before they parted ways silently. In April 2025, Jamie filed for primary physical custody of their daughter at the Los Angeles Superior Court while asking for joint legal custody rights for Malone and requiring him to pay her legal fees.
The legal dispute continues while awaiting updates from the ongoing custody proceedings.
