Chicago Sky star Angel Reese has finally addressed the viral post regarding Shaquille O'Neal's supposed attempts to FaceTime her. Reese clarified that the post was false, noting that it originated from the parody account popularly known as NBA Centel.

A TikToker named @itsalonn created a video about the alleged attempts by the four-time NBA champion to contact Reese following his appearance on her podcast. Seemingly unaware that it came from a satire page, he presented it as real, prompting the WNBA Rookie of the Year runner-up to call him out.

"Y'all know this isn't real….," Reese wrote in the comments section of the TikTok post.

NBA Centel is known for posting memes and satirical images that can easily be mistaken for reality by many on social media. This trend adds to the humor, as plenty of people fall for the account's posts.

As for Angel Reese and Shaquille O'Neal, both hail from LSU and have formed a bond over the years. Shaq even appeared on her "Unapologetically Angel" podcast, although the LA Lakers legend's guesting was met with some fans accusing him of trying to sexualize the 22-year-old WNBA star.

This likely inspired NBA Centel to create the parody post about Shaq supposedly trying to FaceTime Reese several times.

Shaquille O'Neal played three seasons at LSU from 1989 to 1992, leading the Tigers to three straight NCAA tournament appearances. However, O'Neal was not enough to power LSU past the second round. He was selected with the No. 1 pick by the Orlando Magic in 1992, with the Tigers honoring him with a statue in 2016.

Meanwhile, Angel Reese was instrumental in helping LSU win its first-ever NCAA championship in 2023. Reese and the Tigers dominated Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes to take the university's first national title in basketball.

Despite fans' comments about Shaquille O'Neal and Angel Reese, the Chicago Sky star has a long-standing connection with the NBA legend. In January, Reese noted that Shaq was always available to offer advice or help with anything she needed.

"He’s super inspiring to me," Reese told US Today. "He's so genuine, he's been there for me through tough times. He just gets it, and there's not a more perfect person for me to be tight with. We have fun, and if I need anything, he would help me. … And he would do that even if I never played basketball again. He doesn't care about me as a player, he cares about me as a person."

O'Neal, who is the president of basketball at Reebok, signed Reese to an endorsement deal and the company will release her signature shoe in 2026, as reported by HypeBeast.
