Caitlin Clark’s hidden message to Aliyah Boston becomes lasting part of her basketball legacy

Last year, Caitlin Clark partnered up with "Wilson" to produce her own line of basketballs. The star guard is adding four more to her expanding collection, and one of them contains a heartfelt message to one of her teammates.

On Monday morning, Wilson announced that they worked hand-in-hand with Clark to design two new basketballs. One of them is titled "Aspire," and features some hidden messages in there. While the ball can be used inside and outside, people will get its full experience outdoors.

When put in the sunlight, the Aspire ball will turn Indiana Fever colors and have three statements on it. One is "You’re Going to Be Amazing Because You Are Amazing." Wilson put this on the ball because it is what Caitlin Clark tells Aliyah Boston before they take the court every game. Ahead of the release, Clark surprised Boston by putting the ball in her locker.

Clark and Wilson wanted to get more personal with the second edition of signature basketballs, which is why these feature more of her favorite colors. For those looking to get their hands on them, they'll have to wait a little longer. Wilson plans to officially release the new collection on June 23rd.

Ahead of the announcement, Caitlin Clark did an interview with USA Today to talk about her new line of basketballs. Among the things she zeroed in on was being very active in the creative and decision-making processes.

For Clark, the big thing for her is putting out things that people will enjoy. She understands that stuff like this is a way to build a deeper bond with her fan base, and isn't letting the opportunity go to waste.

“Whenever I do something, I want to make it the best product possible for people. But also I feel like this is an easy way for me to connect with my fans,” Clark said. “I want it to feel very personal for them, too. They can connect with me, not just by watching me on TV or coming and buying a ticket to a game.”

Having a signature line of basketballs is an exclusive honor, as Michael Jordan is the only other athlete to have such a partnership with Wilson. Knowing this, Caitlin Clark is taking full advantage to put together a special product for her fans. Along with building more of a personal connection, she is striving to inspire the next generation of athletes in her own way.
