Coco Gauff's French Open final against Aryna Sabalenka marked the first women's championship matchup between the world's No. 1 and No. 2 players since Serena Williams faced Maria Sharapova. It is only the second such matchup in the last 30 years.
Gauff also matched a record held by Williams. With her victory on Saturday, Gauff became the youngest player, at 21, to win both the US Open and French Open women's singles titles. Williams accomplished the same feat in 2002 at a similar age.
Caitlin Clark hypes up Coco Gauff following her French Open triumph
Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark hyped up Coco Gauff following her latest career achievement. On Saturday, Clark shared ESPN's Instagram post on her Instagram story to congratulate Gauff.
She tagged Gauff in her story's caption and accompanied it with three crown emojis.

Clark is sidelined with a quadriceps injury she suffered in her team's 90-88 loss against the New York Liberty on May 24. The Fever guard was expected to be out for at least two weeks because of the injury.
She has missed four consecutive games because of the injury, but is expected to return on Tuesday against the Atlanta Dream. In her absence, the Fever have won two of the four games.
