Indiana Fever rookie sensation Caitlin Clark saw her first year in the WNBA capped by being adjudged as the best freshman of her class. Among those who celebrated her win was friend, fellow rookie, and former collegiate teammate Kate Martin of the Las Vegas Aces.
Martin, who ran alongside Clark at the University of Iowa, took to Instagram to honor the do-it-all guard for what she was able to do in her first year in the WNBA. The Aces rookie shared a poster of Clark's ROY win by ESPN on her IG story, and had a one-word reaction, writing:
"Unreal"

Caitlin Clark surely lived up to all the hype after being the first overall pick in this year's WNBA draft following a successful collegiate career in Iowa. She led all rookies in scoring, assists, and steals with 19.2 points, 8.4 dimes (league-high), and 1.3 swipes in 40 games while also grabbing 5.7 rebounds, which was third for all first-year players.
More importantly, with her steady stellar play, Clark helped the Fever to an even 20-20 record and make it to the postseason after eight years. They, however, were swept by the Connecticut Sun in the opening round.
In winning rookie of the year, Caitlin Clark got 66 of the possible 67 votes, with the lone dissenting vote going to the Chicago Sky's Angel Reese. The Indiana star led the 2024 WNBA All-Rookie Team, which also includes Reese, Rickea Jackson (LA Sparks), Kamilla Cardoso (Chicago) and Leonie Fiebich (New York Liberty).
