Las Vegas Aces superstar A'ja Wilson was brought to tears after an 86-75 win over the Indiana Fever on Wednesday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The two-time WNBA MVP now holds the record for the most points scored in a single season.
An emotional Wilson expressed deep gratitude for her teammates, referring to them as her "heartbeat" while reflecting on her historic achievement.
“It feels great so people can stop talking about," Wilson told reporters at the post-game press conference.
"I don’t get any of that without any single teammate along the way. My teammates are the heartbeat, they get me going," the MVP frontrunner added.

The 27-year-old Wilson needed just 11 points to surpass Jewell Loyd's previous record of 939. She secured her place in WNBA history with a pull-up jumper, 26.4 seconds before halftime.
Alysha Clark, who was seated beside Wilson at the post-game press conference, was also overwhelmed with emotions and broke down. She delivered a heartfelt tribute to Wilson, praising both her greatness on the court and her character as a person.
"She's a superstar. But you would never know it being in her presence. She makes you feel welcome. She makes you feel seen and heard," said Clark.

Wilson has now amassed 956 points over 35 games this season. With three games remaining, the Aces superstar is on track to become the first player in WNBA history to surpass 1,000 points in a single regular season.

MVP frontrunner A'ja Wilson thoroughly outshined Rookie of the Year favorite Caitlin Clark with yet another strong performance. The two-time WNBA Finals MVP notched another double-double while also showcasing her dominance on the defensive end.
Wilson scored 27 points on 11-of-27 shooting from the field, while she didn't take any shots from beyond the arc.
The two-time Olympic gold medalist collected 12 rebounds, with three boards coming on the offensive end. The Aces superstar also recorded two assists, two steals and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Clark scored 16 points on 6-of-22 shooting from the field, including 1-of-10 from the three-point range.
For the season, Wilson averages 27.3 points per game on 52.1% shooting from the floor, including 33.9% from the three-point range. She is also averaging 11.9 blocks, 2.3 assists, 1.9 steals and 2.7 blocks per game.
