Stone Cold Steve Austin vs The Rock, Wrestlemania 17

Courtesy of his victory in the 2001 Royal Rumble match, Stone Cold Steve Austin challenged The Rock for the WWF Championship in a No Disqualification match at Wrestlemania 17, in Houston, Texas. These two men had already met in a No Disqualification match for the WWF Championship at Wrestlemania 15 which was won by Stone Cold. This time too, the Texas Rattlesnake shocked the millions by pinning the Rock to garner a famous victory on the grandest stage of them all. Furthermore, Stone Cold was assisted by Vince McMahon who aligned with a man who was once considered to be his arch-nemesis. At the end of the match, both Vince and Stone Cold celebrated inside the ring by sharing beers which was a huge surprise for the viewers. Who would have thought that the two men who had huge heat between them would turn out to be partners in crime. Stone Cold Steve signaled his heel turn with this event. This awe-inspiring conclusion made this match a favorite for many.
