Also happening on this show was Petey Williams vs Rich Swann in X Division action, more of the storyline between Joe Hendry, Grado and Katarina and Eli Drake issuing an open challenge with a surprise opponent.

#1 Rich Swann vs Petey Williams

Two high-flyers open the show
Two high-flyers open the show

After Rich Swann and Petey Williams make their way to the ring for the opening contest of this week's episode, fellow X Division star and former Impact Champion Matt Sydal makes his way ringside to observe the match between these two frenetic high flyers and join the commentary booth.

As you can imagine the action between Swann and Williams is incredibly fast and exciting from the offset with both men hitting some very impressive moves throughout, although the standout has to be this 450 Splash from the apron to the outside from Swann.

Swann had Williams beat and was about to execute the final blow when Sydal distracted him with his pseudo-spiritual 'third eye' babble. This allowed Williams to nail Swann with a Canadian Destroyer for the win.

Result: Petey Williams Def. Rich Swann

It looks like we'll be getting a programme between Sydal and Swann which is sure to be very exciting!

Joe Hendry won't betray his friend Grado

Before the match can start we have to see a music video from Joe Hendry as the wrestler debuts his new single 'Platonic Love' where he stresses he loves Katarina, but only as a friend. If you missed it don't worry, Impact uploaded the whole video

The Desi Hit Squad were quick off of the blocks attacking Grado and Hendry when they weren't expecting it, forcing the bell to ring early. The match played out with the narrative that Hendry did all the work and that Grado let the team down by snatching defeat from the jaws of victory set up by Hendry.

Result: Desi Hit Squad Def. Grado and Joe Hendry

After the match Katarina berated Grado for losing, she told him she didn't love him because he's such a loser and declared her love for Hendry and then kissed him. A shocked Hendry told her he loved her platonically and stood up for his friend Grado, earning a slap in the process.

It's unclear what Impact Wrestling are doing with Eli Drake, but what is clear is that he's usually highly entertaining regardless of what the former Impact World Champion is doing! This week he issues an open challenge.

And it's none other than Stone Rockwell who answers it. Unfortunately for Rockwell, Drake was more than up to the task of taking on his surprise opponent and ended proceedings fairly quickly with the Gravy Train.

Result: Eli Drake Def. Stone Rockwell

We get a couple of backstage segments, the first is Pentagon Jr and Fenix, the Lucha Brothers, who want Brian Cage to join them to take on oVe, but it doesn't matter if he doesn't because they're good enough to beat them anyway

We also got Alisha Edwards storming in on Moose, Aries and Killer Kross backstage with Aries having to calm the situation as it looked like Kross was ready to snap her neck or something, he's a terrifying dude.

Tessa Blanchard aims to successfully defend her title against Su Yung

Blanchard is someone who shone at ALL IN, reaffirming her championship credentials as the top Knockout in Impact. However, she had a rematch against former champion Yung to contend with and almost ended up in a very bad way.

This was a great match with Tessa selling a rib-injury after hitting an incredible Top Rope Cutter. Blanchard sealed the victory by reversing the Panic Switch into the Buzz Saw to finally put down the Undead Bride.

Result: Tessa Blanchard Def. Su Yung to retain the Knockouts Title

Yung wasn't finished though as she hit Blanchard with a Panic Switch after the match and tried to stuff Blanchard in the coffin and take her away. However, Allie and Kiera Hogan made the save, even though all they got for it was an unappreciative Blanchard telling them she was the champion and they weren't.

#5. LAX feud continues

Huge Bound for Glory announcement
Huge Bound for Glory announcement

The LAX vs OGz feud is one of the most bizarre wrestling stories going today, two weeks ago they ran over a child and now Konnan and Eddie Kingston are meeting their bosses, who had a huge Bound for Glory announcement for LAX

That's right folks, Konnan is returning to the ring to team with LAX to take on Kingston and the OGz at Bound for Glory, with the winners gaining back control. Konnan returning to the ring should be enough to get you excited about this one!

Oh, we also got a backstage promo of Brian Cage responding to the Lucha Brother's invitation. It's safe to say that Brian Cage is in, and has some words of warning for oVe.

oVe have really established themselves as a top heel faction, not just in Impact, but in wrestling today with a number of high profile feuds and a series of top draw matches under their belt and they're here in the main event against Ace Austin, Zach Wentz and Trey Miguel.

The match was pretty good with Austin, Wentz, and Miguel all getting their moments to shine but unsurprisingly, given the feud they're building up with Pentagon, Fenix and Cage, when the dust had settled it was oVe who triumphed, following a Stuffed Piledriver from Callihan to Austin.

Result: oVe and Sami Callihan Def. Ace Austin, Zach Wentz and Trey Miguel

#7. Moose explains his actions, Jon Morrison returns to interrupt

Moose explains himself
Moose explains himself

Impact's newest top faction made its way to the ring and Moose wasted no time revealing why he turned on his friend Eddie Edwards last week. He says that he'd always been there for Edwards but Edwards wasn't there for him, Killer Kross was.

The heels didn't get to gloat for long as top Impact Wrestling star Jon Morrison made his return interrupting Aries, Moose, and Kross. Morrison announced Aries will be defending his title against him at Bound for Glory

Morrison then attempted to take on all three men and was going well delivering Super Kicks, but eventually the numbers caught up on him and Moose, Aries, and Kross beat down the Mayor of Slamtown to end the show.
