Kevin Durant possibly heading to Lakers if he leaves OKC, Derrick Rose back in 2 weeks

We might see KD in the gold and purple

Come the NBA Draft 2016, and grown men in suits will flock, like moths to a flame, to Kevin Durant. The Oklahoma City Thunder superstar’s contract with the franchise ends with the upcoming season, and the absence of massive ring might just be the impetus that makes him transfer his allegiance, according to LarryBrownSports.

Sports journalist Stephen A. Smith told sources, on ESPN’s ‘First Take’, that if the 2014 NBA Most Valuable Player does not re-sign with the team he has stated that he will remain with till retirement, he might just take a trip west, to Los Angeles: “Regardless of how senseless it may sound, in one breath I’m hearing that if Kevin Durant doesn’t stay in Oklahoma City, L.A. is his primary objective and landing spot as opposed to South Beach or even his home of Washington, D.C.”

Implausible as that sounds, Smith further tests the limits of incredulity, saying, “I heard Melo, Kevin Durant, Kobe. And when you take into account that Phil Jackson is on the record saying it might be Kobe’s last year in L.A. — opening the door that there are possibilities for him to go elsewhere. All I’m saying is you just never know.”

The sparse logic behind that is the fact that Kobe Bryant’s contract with the Lakers ends with this season, as does Durant’s. Combine that with Phil Jackson’s speculation and you have something that even a surrealist artist could not think up. If Durant does go to the Lakers, it will be because of Kobe’s retirement, not to team with him. But in all probability, KD will sit tight where he is, and continue seeking gold next season if it eludes him this year.

DERRICK ROSE WILL RETURN TO THE COURT IN TWO WEEKS

This is Rose’s 7th injury since 2008

The Chicago Bulls announced on Wednesday that star point guard Derrick Rose will be fit to resume all basketball activities in two weeks, according to TheScore. The three-time NBA All-Star suffered a fracture in his left orbital bone after he ran into teammate Taj Gibson’s elbow during practice. He has successfully undergone surgery.

According to the report, the 26-year-old NBA Most Valuable Player (2011) will participate in the team’s on-court practices by October 14th. Chicago Bulls’ head coach Fred Hoisberg hoped that the six-year-veteran will be fit to play in the team’s season opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers, which is on the 27th of October. It seems that he won’t be disappointed. The Bulls will play their first preseason game against the Milwaukee Bucks on October 6th.
