After having looked at some of the records in Part 1, let us have a look at Part 2 of some of the records set in different facets of the game.

Top 3 Individual Scores

1. Brendon McCullum – Kolkata Knight Riders, 158* in 73 balls at a strike rate of 216.43, vs. Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2008 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. He destroyed the home side with ease as he raced to 158 off just 73 balls; it being the highest score ever in a T20.

2. Murali Vijay – Chennai Super Kings, 127 in 56 balls vs. the Rajasthan Royals at a strike rate of 226.78 in 2010 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Murali Vijay’s aggressive and intrepid 127 off just 56 balls for the Chennai Super Kings against the Rajasthan Royals in IPL-3, along with contributions from Matthew Hayden and Albie Morkel, resulted in CSK posing the highest total in an IPL game ever – 246.

3. Paul Valthaty – Kings XI Punjab, 120* in 63 balls at a strike rate of 190.47 vs. the Chennai Super Kings in 2011, at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali. Paul Valthaty’s unbeaten century against defending Champions – CSK was one of the stepping stones to creating a name for himself on the big stage amongst the other famed cricketers. His century comprised of 19 fours and 2 sixes. His mighty effort helped Punjab secure a win against the mighty CSK which resulted in it being the best run-chase in the IPL against the defending champions, chasing down 189 and winning by 6 wickets.

Top 3 highest sixes in an innings:

1. Brendon McCullum – 13 sixes and 10 fours in his innings of 158* for Kolkata Knight Riders vs Royal Challengers Bangalore.

2. Sanath Jayasuriya – 11 sixes and 9 fours in his innings of 114* in 48 balls at a strike rate of 237.5 for Mumbai Indians against the Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede in 2008.

3. Murali Vijay – 11 sixes and 8 fours in his innings of 127 for Chennai Super Kings against Rajasthan Royals.

Top 3 highest wicket-takers:

1. R.P. Singh – 64 wickets in 56 matches at an average of 24.59. He has a strike rate of 19.03 and an economy rate of 7.75. He has picked up a 3-wicket haul 7 times and his best was 4/22 against the Kolkata Knight Riders.

2. Lasith Malinga – 61 wickets in 42 matches at an average of 16.90. With a strike rate of 15.88 and an economy of just 6.38, Malinga has terrified the opposition every time he is handed the ball. He has 1 five-wicket haul and 7, 3-wicket hauls. His best is 5/13 against the Delhi Daredevils.

3. Amit Mishra – 61 wickets in 45 matches at an average of 18.90. Having a strike rate of 16.55, and a meagre economy rate of 6.84, he has instrumental in more than a few victories for the teams he has played for. He similar to Malinga has 1 five-wicket haul and 7, 3-wicket hauls. His best was ironically against the Deccan Chargers, the team he now plays for when he grabbed his first 5 wicket-haul with 5 wickets for 17 runs.

Top 3 dismissals by a player:

1. Suresh Raina, one of the best fielders in the Indian team currently, in 62 matches for the Chennai Super Kings tops with 37 dismissals which include 31 catches and 6 run-outs.

2. Rohit Sharma, known for his contributions in the field besides his handy middle-order batting, in his 61 matches in all the seasons of the IPL has 32 dismissals that include 29 catches and 3 run-outs.

3. AB de Villiers, known for his athleticism in the field, remarkably has 31 dismissals in the 30 games that he has played which include 24 catches and 7 run-outs.
