Two-times champion Kolkata Knight Riders will take on the Delhi Daredevils in the second match of the Indian Premier League 2016 tonight at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Just after a week of the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2016, Eden Gardens will once again be the centre of attraction as these two teams square off against each other.

Delhi, on the other hand, after finishing at the 7th spot last season, has changed the outlook of their squad by bringing in young talent and proven mentors. Delhi went into the auction this year with a changed approach and focused on youth while picking their players. They bought West Indian rookie Carlos Brathwaite for a whopping amount in this year’s auction and Brathwaite justified his price tag with a stellar knock in the T20 World Cup final that helped West Indies trump England in the last over of the match.
Delhi Daredevils also grabbed eyeballs in this year’s auction by buying Indian all-rounder Pawan Negi for a hefty amount of INR 8.5 Crores. They have also roped in Rahul Dravid and Paddy Upton as their mentor and coach respectively which clearly suggests that Delhi Daredevils is trying to emulate the Rajasthan Royals model successfully.
