Punjab Kings' (PBKS) part-time spinner Liam Livingstone was pumped up as he dismissed Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Shubman Gill in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. With that, the hosts reduced the Titans to 66/2 after 11.5 overs during the chase of 142 runs in Mullanpur on Sunday, April 21. Gill departed for 35 runs off 29 balls including five boundaries.
For the unversed, the dismissal came during the 10th over of GT's run chase. Livingstone bowled a full-length ball and Gill went down for a big shot towards long-off. However, he failed to clear Kagiso Rabada, who completed a safe catch to bring Punjab back into the game. Livingstone then gave a sendoff to Gill with his animated celebrations.

Despite his failure, Gill remains one of the leading run-scorers of IPL 2024, scoring 298 runs in eight innings, including two half-centuries. The right-handed batter will look to get consistent ahead of the 2024 T20 World Cup. The T20 tournament is slated to take place in the US and the West Indies in June.
GT bowl out PBKS for 142 in IPL 2024 match
Gujarat Titans bundled out Punjab Kings for 142 in 20 overs after being asked to bowl first. Sai Kishore starred with the ball for GT, returning with exceptional figures of 4/33, while Noor Ahmed and Mohit Sharma picked up two wickets each. Rashid Khan also bagged one wicket.
Prabhsimran Singh (35 off 21) and Sam Curran (20 off 19) provided a promising start for PBKS by sharing a 52-run partnership for the opening wicket. The hosts, though, suffered a collapse and were reduced to 99/7. Harpreet Brar scored 29 off 12 to take the team post a respectable total.
In response, GT were 91/3 after 14 overs, with Sai Sudharsan and Azmatullah Omarzai at the crease.
The Titans have so far won four out of seven games and are coming on the back of a six-wicket loss against Delhi Capitals. Meanwhile, Punjab have managed just two wins in seven games. They have registered a hat-trick of losses against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, and Mumbai Indians.
