Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore is a tall left-arm orthodox spinner who has honed his skills in the furnace of domestic cricket. The Tamil Nadu lad is all set to don the canary-yellow jersey of CSK and weave his magic in the dusty pitches of UAE.
Sai Kishore made his List A debut for Tamil Nadu in the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy on 12 March 2017. A year later, the left-arm spinner made his first-class debut for Tamil Nadu in the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy on 14 October 2017. Sai was quick to learn the ropes and in the 2018-19 Ranji season emerged as the leading wicket-taker for Tamil Nadu with 22 dismissals in six matches.
The young left-arm spinner had a brilliant domestic season in 2019-20 and has been a highly consistent performer in the TNPL. He finished as the highest wicket-taker in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy in which Tamil Nadu finished runners-up, picking up 20 wickets in 12 matches, at an excellent economy rate of 4.63. He also delivered consistent performances in both the Vijay Hazare Trophy and the Ranji Trophy.
Sai Kishore after being on the fringes of the IPL finallylanded the opportunity to play for one of the biggest T20 franchise on the planet currently. Sai was snaffled up by Chennai Super Kings in the 2020 auction for Rs. 20 lakhs. However, given the number of quality spinners that the Super Kings possess, it's unlikely that Sai Kishore will get an opportunity first up. But rubbing shoulders with the best in the business and having a mentor like MS Dhoni will surely be a huge learning curve for the youngster.
Sai Kishore joined a coaching camp near his house at the age of 10 and soon started playing at the district level. But, his plan was to quit cricket after finishing his schooling. After completing his 12th, he joined an Engineering college but soon realized that he should go for cricket as a career. So, Sai dropped out of the college just after two months of joining and started focusing on cricket only and the rest as they is history.
