Mohammad Nawaz is a young Pakistani cricketer who represents Pakistan in all three formats of International cricket. He was born on 21 March 1994 in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
Nawaz is an all-rounder, who is a left-handed batsman and a slow left-arm orthodox bowler.
Mohammad Nawaz started playing cricket at the age of 14 as a left-arm medium-fast bowler and a middle-order batsman. He then changed his bowling style to left-arm spin and transformed into a spin-bowling all-rounder.
He made his first-class debut in the year 2012, playing for Rawalpindi. In the four seasons of first-class cricket after his debut, Nawaz scored 1440 runs and took 44 wickets at an average of 24.4.
On the back of some exceptional performances in the Pakistan Super League, Nawaz made his T20 International debut for Pakistan against the United Arab Emirates in the 2016 Asia Cup. He was hit for 38 runs from three overs of his bowling in his debut match.
He made his One Day International debut against Ireland on 18 August 2016, scoring a half-century. He made his Test debut against the West Indies in Dubai on 13 October 2016. He picked up four wickets on his Test debut.
With Yasir Shah and Shadab Khan cementing their places in the national team, Nawaz doesn't get many opportunities to represent Pakistan. He couldn't make it to the Pakistan squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.
Apart from playing for Rawalpindi in first-class cricket, Nawaz also played for Rawalpindi Rams in the National T20 Cup. Currently, he plays for National Bank of Pakistan in the domestic circuit. He was bought by Quetta Gladiators for the 2016 Pakistan Super League.
