Litton Kumar Das is an international cricket player from Bangladesh. He represents his country in all three cricket formats. Das played against India in his very first international match on June 10, 2015. He made his One-Day International debut against India as well. He took on South Africa in his maiden Twenty20 International match in 2015.

Litton Das' Domestic Career

In the National Cricket League(Bangladesh) 2014–15, Das was a player for Rangpur Division. He scored 1,024 runs at an average of 85.33 at the end of the seven-match season, scoring five hundreds. The title was won by Rangpur Division.

In the 2016–17 Bangladesh Cricket League while representing East Zone, Das made his first-ever double century in first-class cricket in January 2017. With 752 runs in 14 games, Das has the highest run total in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League for the 2016–17 season.

With 779 runs in 6 matches, including 274 in one innings, Das was the top run scorer in the 2017–18 Bangladesh Cricket League in April 2018. In the 2018–19 Bangladesh Premier League draft, Das was added to the Sylhet Sixers squad. In the 2019 Caribbean Premier League, he made his debut in an international franchise league as a player with the Jamaica Tallawahs. In two of the tournament's matches, he scored 44 runs. He was picked to play in the 2019–20 Bangladesh Premier League for the Rajshahi Royals, scoring 455 runs throughout the season.

Litton Das was picked up by the Kolkata Knight Riders in March 2023 for ₹50 lakh for the 2023 Indian Premier League. That season, he appeared in just 1 game and scored four runs.

On June 10, 2015, Das played his first-ever Test match against India. On June 18, 2015, he made his debut in a One Day International match, also against India. On July 5, 2015, he played his first Twenty20 International game against South Africa.

He made his One Day International debut against India on June 18, 2015. On September 28, 2018, Das scored his first hundred in an ODI vs India in the Asia Cup final. Das got his first ODI century on September 28, 2018, versus India in the Asia Cup final. He went on to score 121 runs in 117 balls with 12 fours and 2 sixes. Bangladesh lost the match on the very last ball, but he would go on to receive "Man of the Match" for his efforts.

Litton Das was picked in the Bangladesh team for the Cricket World Cup squad in April 2019. Against the West Indies, he made his World Cup debut. He made 94 runs not out and built an undefeated 189-run partnership with all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, helping Bangladesh to a historic seven-wicket victory.

During Zimbabwe's March 2020 tour of Bangladesh, Das scored 126 runs in the opening One-Day International (ODI), his second century in the format, while becoming the first batsman from Bangladesh to rack up a century in Sylhet. He scored his 1000th career run in an ODI in the third match, and he also scored 176 runs off 143 balls, recording the highest partnership for Bangladesh for any wicket in ODI history with Tamim Iqbal (292 runs). He achieved the highest individual score in ODIs of any batsman from Bangladesh.

Das played his first-ever Test match versus India on June 10, 2015. Against Sri Lanka, Das took the duty of wicket keeper for the Test series. Das was appointed the 12th captain of the Bangladesh test team. He scored 200 runs overall, including two half-centuries, throughout the Test series, making him one of the top run scorers for Bangladesh during the West Indies visit to Bangladesh in February 2021.

He was included in the Bangladeshi team's all-format squad for their visit of Zimbabwe in June 2021. He fell five runs short of his first Test century in the opening innings of the one-off Test match against Zimbabwe. He and Mahmudullah had a 138-run stand, which was the best seventh wicket partnership for Bangladesh in Test cricket and the second-highest seventh wicket partnership overall.

Das achieved his first century in a Test match against Pakistan in November 2021. He hit 88, 141, and 52 in three innings during the two-match test series against Sri Lanka in May 2022, moving him up to the 12th spot in the ICC Men's Test Batsmen list with 724 rating points.

Following Bangladesh's 1-0 loss in their two-test series against Sri Lanka in May 2022, test captain Mominul Haque resigned, and Shakib Al Hasan took over on June 2, 2022, while Das was made the vice-captain of the team. In September 2024, Das recorded 12 dismissals in the Test series against Pakistan, the most dismissals by a Bangladeshi wicketkeeper in a Test series, the Fifth most wicketkeeper dismissals in a two-match Test series. He scored 138 runs in the first innings and was named man of the match for his valiant performance.

Das played against South Africa in his debut Twenty20 International match in 2015. 2018 saw him reach his first white-ball fifty in twenty-four balls versus the West Indies. He took over as captain of Bangladesh's squad in 2021, after Mahmudullah, who was the regular captain.

In September 2021, he was named in Bangladesh's squad for the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. In May 2024, Das was named in Bangladesh's squad for the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup tournament. In 2025, he was named the permanent T20 captain till the 2026 T20 World Cup.
