The 3 teams that could win the Champions League T20

CLT20

The Champions League Twenty 20, more commonly known as the CLT20, is a tournament where top clubs from every part of the world come and play for a coveted prize of $6 million.

Teams from Australia (Brisbane Heats and Perth Scorchers), South Africa (Titans and Highveld Lions), New Zealand (Otago Volts), West Indies (Trinidad and Tobago), and India (Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals) have come for the face-off.

Every match in the tournament seems like a challenge in itself and has its own unique points. Every team has star players from around the world and who can win the match on their own on their good days. However, every tournament has its own set of teams who are expected to be the champions; this tournament is no different.

If one has to pick three teams who are expected to win this tournament, then the following three teams should be clearly put aside as they are in a league of their own.

1) Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings

This team should be the first name on any list that is expected to win the tournament. If the records are anything to go by, then this team has really done great over the years.

From winning the IPL trophy twice and winning the CLT20 once, the M.S. Dhoni led team has been great over the years. This star laden team is expected to do great this time too. From having star batsmen to star bowlers, from pinch hitters to men who never go over the line while hitting, this team has always had everything.

Michael Hussey and Murali Vijay, opening the batting, give a perfect start to the team. Suresh Raina, Dhoni, Subramaniam Badrinath and Ravindra Jadeja all come in and develop on the good starts given. The team has many records to its name.

When it comes to bowling, Ravichandran Ashwin, Dwayne Bravo, Chris Morris, Albie Morkel and Jadeja can decimate the opponent team to bits on a good day. The team has had much success over the years and is expected to go the same way in this tournament too.

2) Trinidad and Tobago

Trinidad & Tobago

This team from the West Indies has done well in their home premier league, the Caribbean Premier League. It has players who have the ability to knock the ball out of the park on any given day at any given time. Sunil Narine, with his off breaks can break the backs of a team, Denesh Ramdin with his efficient wicket-keeping skills and excellent footwork while batting, Darren Bravo with his skills to raise big scores are the team’s main players. Trinidad and Tobago has proved its worth in the Champions League over the years and they might have a solid chance this time to win the trophy and the money attached with it.

3) Otago Volts

Otago Volts

This team from New Zealand contains international Kiwi team players. This Brendon McCullum led team has done well in the qualifier rounds and will have a favourable chance to win the tournament.

This team has a well balanced squad and has good players in every department. From Brendon in pinch hitting department to Nathan in the spin department, to Bracewell and Wagner in pace department this team has good depth.

The Otago Volts vs Kanduratta Maroons match proved how good the pacers from the Kiwi team really are. The Faisalabad Wolves proved Nathan McCullum’s worth for the team and the match against Sunrisers proved the worth of Brendon McCullum’s batting.

This team has a high chance of winning the tournament and in my personal opinion, I would really be surprised if they don’t make the final.
