Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have been operating on a whole other level in the 2025 F1 season. McLaren's MCL39 has proved mighty in the hands of the two drivers, and thus, they have been having their own two-way drivers' title fight this year.
While the challenger is already a big nuisance for the rest of the chasing pack, their troubles could increase 10-fold with McLaren insisting that they 'need to improve the car.'
In line with this, the Woking-based outfit's Team Principal, Andrea Stella, said:
"I think the way we are managing this – to be honest, I don’t expect it to be very different from what’s happening in the other nine teams. We are still definitely keeping interest and momentum on this year’s car because, like I said before, we are not giving anything for granted.
"We need to improve the car, especially in some conditions, and we are planning to do so with some upgrades," Stella said, via Racingnews365.
After the first nine rounds of the 2025 Formula 1 season, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri lead the Drivers' standings with 176 and 186 points. On the Constructors front, McLaren is sitting at the top with 362 points.
Oscar Piastri's take on the 'pressure ramping up' in latter half of 2025 F1 season

Oscar Piastri is the less experienced racing driver in comparison to his teammate Lando Norris. Last year, the latter was in the Drivers' championship fight against Max Verstappen, and thus, Piastri had to play second fiddle on some occasions.
However, in the ongoing F1 campaign, the Australian is running the show from the front. In line with this, he has touched upon how he will deal with things in the title fight when the pressure ramps up during the latter half.
"It's obviously still very early in the year, and once you get later in the season, the pressure ramps up, potentially, some of the decisions you make on the track start to change a bit. But for now, it's just about trying to score the most points I can and go out there and try and win every race," Piastri said, via Racingnews365.
Next up is the Canadian Grand Prix that will take place at the picturesque Gilles-Villeneuve racing circuit. In 2024, Max Verstappen was able to triumph in the race, with Oscar Piastri ending his outing in P5.
Taking into consideration the performance level of the MCL39 this year, the latter will be one of the favorites to amass the victory this time.
