1. Roger Federer off to a quick start at Rotterdam:

Switzerland’s Roger Federer takes part in the opening ceremony of the ABN AMRO tennis Tournament in Rotterdam on February 11, 2013. Federer began the defence of his Rotterdam World Tennis title by crushing Slovenia’s Grega Zemlja 6-3, 6-1 in just 57 minutes on Wednesday.

2. Fans deaths casts shadow over Dortmund draw:

Fans of FC Shakhtar stand to pay tribute to football fans who were on board an Antonov AN-24 plane which made an emergency landing in Donetsk on February 13, 2013, killing five people. Germany defender Mats Hummels’s late header gave Borussia Dortmund a Champions League lifeline with a 2-2 draw at Shakhtar Donetsk in Wednesday’s last 16, first-leg, clash.

3. Cristiano Ronaldo embraces Sir Alex Ferguson:

4. West Indies end their tour of Australia with a morale-boosting 27-run T20I win:

The women in maroon would meet the same opponents in the final to be played at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on February 17. The stunning win over the five-time champions must lift the morale of the West Indies before the final clash on Sunday.

6. The Boston Celtics beat the Chicago Bulls:

7. Nadal out of Brasil Open doubles over knee fear:

Spanish tennis player and World No.5 Rafael Nadal gave a press conference at the Brasil Open in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on February 13, 2012 stating he will not play his scheduled doubles match at the Brasil Open, Wednesday because of “knee overuse”. The organizers confirmed that Nadal will continue playing the singles tournament.

8. Shiv Kapur targets an Indian double at the Avantha Masters:

India’s Shiv Kapur has targeted an Indian double at the Avantha Masters after capturing his debut European Tour Challenge Tour title at the Gujarat Kensville Challenge. A fortnight ago, Kapur became the second home player, after 2011 champion Gaganjeet Bhullar, to win the Kensville Challenge when he held off Scotland’s Andrew McArthur by two strokes to take the 32,000 winner’s cheque and in the process, move to the top of the Challenge Tour Rankings.
