Liam Harrison was happy to see Nong-O return to the win column at ONE Friday Fights 58 where he bounced back from some difficult defeats.

Harrison shares a certain history with the former dominant ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion who will always be a part of his career.

In 2022, 'The Hitman' suffered a significant injury that kept him out of action until the upcoming ONE 167 when he took on the champion.

Following big losses to Jonathan Haggerty and Nico Carrillo, the now-former champion had a lot at stake on April 5 when he faced off with knockout artist Kulabdam.

Harrison said on the ONE on SK podcast that it was good to see the Thai veteran go back to fighting smart to secure the victory:

"That Nong-O who fought Kulabdam, I love it when he fights like that. With Haggerty and Carrillo, he was just trying to blast them up, with big massive low kicks and stuff, and it backfired on him. The Nong-O who beat Kulabdam, he fought technical, nice body kicks. His guard was tight, he wasn't making too many mistakes, and he turned the clock back."

We could see a similar thing from Liam Harrison on his return

Liam Harrison finds himself in a similar position to Nong-O where he knows that wading into the fire might not be his best strategy on his return.

The Brit is determined to put on a show for the fans in what will likely be one of the final fights of his career but he has also been very honest about what he can realistically expect from his body.

A veteran performance from Nong-O on April 5 may have put the idea in his head that fighting smart is the key to defeating Katsuki Kitano on June 7.

Harrison has all the experience in the world and he surely won't back down from a good old-fashioned scrap but that doesn't mean he can't use his years of elite-level competition to his advantage.

ONE 167 will air live from the Impact Arena in Bangkok on June 7.
