Conor McGregor already made a name for himself in the MMA world prior to signing with the UFC, but today marks 10 years since the Irishman stepped into the octagon for the very first time.

'The Notorious' has a wildly successful career behind him and despite sitting on a ridiculous amount of money, the athlete remains determined to build on his legacy. Later this year, the megastar will reportedly return to action and compete against the always-entertaining Michael Chandler in a potential title-eliminator clash.

As announced on social media earlier today, today marks a decade since Conor McGregor made the walk to the octagon and showcased his skills to the UFC fanbase for the first time.

Giving up his two titles with Cage Warriors to make way for the UFC, it took Conor McGregor no time to create a historic moment in the octagon, something he became accustomed to throughout his career.

Just a little over a minute into the bout, the Dublin native landed a combination of strikes that put Marcus Brimage down before he finished the veteran on the ground. While his performance was brilliant, it was his post-fight speech that stole the show.

Interviewed by UFC vet Kenny Florian, McGregor received a huge amount of support from the fans as he gave his thoughts on his display. Closing out the interview, the then-featherweight brought to life his now-famous quote, 'Dana, 60Gs baby!'

Conor McGregor's UFC record: How has the Irishman fared since his debut in the octagon?

Since his debut inside the octagon, Conor McGregor has gone on to become one of the most established fighters in the history of the company, holding records that may never be broken.

Including the Marcus Brimage bout, the fan-favorite went on an electrifying six-fight win streak to start life in the UFC, beating Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier, and winning interim gold against Chad Mendes at the time.

This led to his first taste of undisputed gold when he set the record for the fastest knockout in UFC title fight history with his iconic performance against Jose Aldo. 'The Notorious' then picked up his first loss in the octagon as he and Nate Diaz shared one win apiece in their fight-of-the-year contender clashes in 2016.

McGregor closed out the year with arguably his greatest performance ever against Eddie Alvarez, capturing lightweight gold and becoming the first ever simultaneous two-division champion in the promotion's history.
