WATCH: When a Twitch streamer pretended to play UFC game to stream an actual pay-per-view event live

Few MMA fans will have forgotten the hilarious moment a Twitch streamer pretended to play a UFC video game in order to stream UFC 218 to his viewers.

In 2017, Max Holloway and Jose Aldo ran it back for the featherweight title. Holloway won the belt from Aldo months earlier by TKOing the Brazilian veteran in the third round. 'Blessed' repeated that feat in their highly anticipated rematch.

The stacked pay-per-view also saw current heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou deliver his iconic first-round knockout of Alistair Overeem and former lightweight titleholder Eddie Alvarez knock out Justin Gaethje with a vicious knee.

Dana White and the UFC have taken extreme measures in trying to tackle piracy in regards to the promotions PPVs. They famously took down the streaming website cagewatcher.eu in 2012, successfully obtaining the IP and email addresses from anyone who had used the site to illegally stream.

In an interview with GQ, the 53-year-old had this to say to those who try to pirate any UFC event:

"I care dummy. This is how everyone makes their money. You're bit***ng about fighters not making enough money, they get a piece of the PPV. People who steal it [PPV] are stealing from us and them. What happens to people who steal? You get f*****g smashed and you go to jail. I'm going to make sure that we get you. Everybody was laughing at us when I talked about this before, but we caught a lot of people. They weren't laughing when they got caught."

When UFC president Dana White responded to criticism about fighter pay

Dana White responded to criticism from former fighter Gray Maynard after he accused the 53-year-old of lying during his GQ interview.

Duringthe publication's Actually Me segment with White, he responded to a fan question about the regularly criticized fighter pay model, saying:

"Fighters always wanna make more money. Boxing has been absolutely destroyed because of money and all the things that go on. It's never gonna happen while I'm here. Believe me, these guys get paid what they're supposed to get paid. They eat what they kill. They get a percentage of the pay-per-view buys, and money is spread out amongst fighters."

In response to White's interview, and more specifically his address about fighter pay, Maynard took to Twitter to tell Dana White:

"Needs to tell different stories to different audiences. GQ is obviously a newer less educated fight market (easier to lie to). But, don’t put those lies back into the educated fight market, I’ll look like a scumbag and have to turn it on u and call u a scumbag… pimpin ain’t easy"
