5 reasons why Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar rematch should happen at Wrestlemania 31

Undertaker Vs Brock Lesnar

The Undertaker could comeback for one last match against Brock LesnarEarlier this year at WrestleMania 30, the unimaginable happened. Brock Lesnar became the guy who finally conquered the Phenom’s undefeated streak of 21-0 at WrestleMania. As reminded by Paul Heyman several times, Brock Lesnar is the “1” in “21-1”. Whether the fans like it or not, Brock Lesnar will be remembered in history as the man who did the impossible and achieved what other superstars before him failed to.Since then, we have not heard from the Deadman and there haven’t been positive rumours about a return. While he continues to be in the dark, new main eventers such as Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins have emerged as favourites to feud against The Beast Incarnate. Other options also include fan-favourite Daniel Bryan, who is still in his injury recovery phase while there have also been talks about The Rock returning and facing Lesnar at the grandest stage. But amongst all of these speculations and anticipations, it would be unwise to count out a realistic rematch between Taker and Brock at the Wrestlemania 31 event. If you think about it, there are several angles that are engraved behind another feud. And in this slide, we take a look at the reasons why we shouldn’t forget the Undertaker as a likely option to face Lesnar.

#5 Best opponent for Lesnar

Undertaker Vs Brock Lesnar

There are a lot of speculations going on regarding the best possible opponents to battle Brock Lesnar at WresleMania 31. The Rock, Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns currently stand as the favourites for the no.1 contender’s spot. The Rock’s health issues are still a big concern for a match at the grandest stage while Roman Reigns’ push towards a main event status is still in its nascent stage. Daniel Bryan, on the other hand, is rumoured to suffer the same fate as Cena did at SummerSlam and his match will be a further demonstration of Lesnar’s power.

If the possibilities stated above fall into place, then Taker still looks to be the best opponent for the Beast Incarnate. With revenge on his mind and a score still to settle, The Phenom can once again regain back his pride by defeating Lesnar at the biggest event of Sports Entertainment and remind why he indeed is an immortal figure on the Wrestlemania stage

#4 A match bigger than the Streak

Undertaker Vs Brock Lesnar

Streaks are made to be broken and the same happened to Undertaker’s historic streak. Undertaker’s career is not defined by his streak at WrestleMania, but it is something much more than that. The rematch shouldn’t be centered around the streak and it must involve an intriguing storyline that would emerge much bigger than the streak.

Taker reportedly suffered a concussion during the match and was taken to the hospital immediately after the bout. Vince also followed up to the hospital with his long serving employee. The story can be picked up from his loss at WrestleMania 30 and with revenge on his mind, he can assure the WWE universe that his career far from over by raising the stakes higher and even challenging him for the WWE World Heavyweight championship. It would be a mouth-watering prospect to see The Prince of Darkness to hold the belt for one last time before he finally decides to call it a day.

#3 An even contest with a point to prove

Judging from the history between these two superstars, Lesnar can be the rarest of Taker’s opponents who can claim to have a better head-to-head record. Rewind yourselves to 2003 and you should remember the Biker Chain match which was won by Lesnar after a significant interference from Vince McMahon. Even on the previous edition of No Mercy PPV in 2002, Lesnar got the better of the Deadman in a brutal Hell In A Cell match while he was in his Badass gimmick.

Fast forwarding to 2014, the unthinkable happened at WM 30 and although It wasn’t certainly the best bout between them, it was a match with the greatest shock in wrestling entertainment history. To be fair, the bad shape that Undertaker was in maybe the reason behind a lackluster match and quite possibly could have been the decided factor in the ending the Streak. Most fans were upset about it, many were angered because of the man who ended it.

So Taker’s biggest aim would be to overcome an opponent that has bettered him in the ring. Throughout his career, he has emerged successful against WWE icons like Shawn Michaels, Triple H and many more and his legacy in the business has reached untouchable heights based on those matches. But, one thing he still has to do is add Lesnar to his list of victims and in WM 31, that could be his ultimate mission.

#2 Shutting up Paul Heymans multiple references for good

Undertaker Vs Brock Lesnar

In the time frame between Lesnar ending Taker’s Streak and him becoming the WWE World Heavyweight champion, Paul Heyman constantly reminded and rambled on about what his client achieved every time he had the microphone in his hands. Now you do have to ask what was the motive behind this continuous reminding when it has been months already since the match got over. And on another note, when is the last time anyone in the WWE sold a win or loss the way Heyman has?

All of these efforts will ultimately end up nowhere if it doesn’t culminate in a rematch. Perhaps, Heyman continues to mention it throughout the year and then into WrestleMania season next year for the buildup. Till then, let Brock rampage through the WWE roster for a few months. Elevate him even more by defeating Cena, Orton and whoever else they put in his path.

And after all the destruction, when Paul Heyman will say "My client Brock Lesnar conquered the streak," we may finally hear the much awaited gong!

#1 A fitting farewell to the legendary Phenom

Undertaker Vs Brock Lesnar

Since his loss at WrestleMania 30, there has been no trace of Taker in the WWE. There were reports about him still being a bad shape and suffering from the effects of his match with Lesnar. Perhaps he has already decided that it is the right time to hang up his boots. If he could work for one more match, nothing could be bigger than facing the “Beast Incarnate” again who ended his streak.

Fans should be given a better opportunity to bid farewell to the superstar that has been a huge part of the WWE for more than two decades. It will be just what the company needs to give fans closure and a perfect ending to a mythical career of The Phenom.
