5 WWE superstars who need new finishers

Wade Barrett has been known to knock opponents out of the air with a Bull Hammer.

Hulk Hogans leg drop is a notoriously bad finisher.Even legends like Hulk Hogan have been known to carry bad moves as their signature finishers. But the difference was, those guys came from an era when moves were as much about charisma and theatrics as the actual damage inferred. That era has passed, though. With Neville corkscrewing through the air and RKOs popping up out of nowhere to get fans on their feet, some current superstars leave a lot to be desired with their chosen finisher.Heres five of themthat could use an upgrade in that department, as well as ideas for a replacement

#1 Wade Barrett

Wade Barrett has been known to knock opponents out of the air with a Bull Hammer.

If his purported background as a bare-knuckles boxer is true, Wade Barrett is as legitimate a fighter as there is on the WWE roster. Yet something about his Bull Hammer elbow shot finisher is lackluster, perhaps because elbow shots are not uncommon in any match.

What Barrett needs is something that accentuates his length and overall size advantage, like some sort of a powerbomb variation or overwhelming submission hold. Maybe then he could get more meaningful storylines than his wasted run as King of the Ring.

#2 The Ascension

The Ascension’s Fall of Man often looks more like a complicated trip.

The Ascension’s team finisher known as the Fall of Man is just as awkward in motion as it looks in the above photo. Perhaps the concept is solid – it would be hard to tell – but the execution never looks devastating enough to win a match with.

What these guys need are separate finishers that could make each of them look stronger, perhaps a leg-based submission for Viktor where he could taunt his foe at the same time. On the other end, Konnor could show off his power with a shoulder-carried slam of some sort.

#3 Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns has speared Big Show countless times in the last couple years.

It almost seems like no one thought to really pick a finisher for Roman Reigns to use. Neither of his closing signature moves can be termed as bad, but neither the Superman Punch nor the Spear would seem good enough for a man expected to win the World Heavyweight Championship multiple times in his career.

Because Reigns is truly athletic, perhaps he could surprise everyone with a top turnbuckle finisher, either of the frog splash family or a bulldog variety. The latter makes the most sense, as it would be similar to his running bulldog from his FCW(now known as NXT) days.

#4 Naomi

Naomi’s finisher is almost inexplicably awkward.

In the case of Some finishers, you just have to see to believe.

Naomi’s Rear View is one of them, and not in a good way. She literally jumps in the air in front of her opponent after an Irish Whip and hits them in the face with her backside. Now this move isn't completely inappropriate for her because, after all, she is Rikishi’s daughter-in-law, but it still isn't great.

There are better ways to use her athleticism, perhaps something like Spike Dudley’s Acid Drop, but almost anything would be less embarrassing for Naomi and the Divas as a whole than what she's been using until now.

#5 Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins has adopted Triple H’s Pedigree finisher.

Yes, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion needs a new finisher. Not that his former move of choice, the Curb Stomp, really showed off his skills, but at least it was somewhat original and could be used by surprise occasionally.

The Pedigree provides none of that. Rollins has plenty of suitable finishers in his arsenal, but which will he use depends on how much the WWE is comfortable in letting him do. Preferably, “the Architect” will land on something that he can do long-term, that highlights how gifted he is, like some sort of a suplex variant.
