The Heart Break KidOnly a handful of WWE wrestlers are ever known to have a reputation of being able to wrestle a broom and make it look classic. Shawn Michaels is one of the few in that elite category. He’s made good with matches that were never given much of a thought to be great. He’s one of the greatest WWE workers there ever was and will be. He’s not called Mr. Wrestlemania for nothing!Over the years, Michaels has put over a lot of talent and had many matches worth a 5 star rating. Here are 5 below-average wrestlers Shawn Michaels made look good in the ring-

#5 Vince McMahon

Michaels and McMahon during Wrestlemania season

Make now mistake,Vince McMahon is a muscleman. He’s more muscle than skill when it comes to wrestling. He’s not technical genius when it comes to the mat but he’s delivered in all of his matches. They tell a story and those matches have enough drama to make it entertaining.

Put a gifted wrestler like Michaels in the ring and you may just get an unexpected classic.

Their Tables, Ladders and Chairs match could have been an instant flop given McMahon’s age and all but they went all out to turn it into a must- watch. HBK leaped onto the chairman from a 20 foot long ladder through a table too.

#4 Sid

Sycho Sid vs HBK

Psycho Sid may be remembered for a lot of things. Be it that incident with his broken leg or being a botch machine ( he asked J. R for a retake duringa live show), his larger than life persona but what he’ll surely not be remembered for will be his wrestling skills.

Sid was no technician in the ring. His build made him quite a one dimensional performer. That’s a fact for many men his size. Sid was introduced as HBK’s bodyguard, hence beginning a longtime feud later on. He even defeated Michaels for the WWE Championship.

That till date remains Sid’s most defining feuds.

#3 Chris Masters

Locked with The Master

Firstly, Chris Masters has improved his wrestling skills a lot since the time he left WWE. But back when he debuted, he was a one move wonder. The Masters lock was the one move that Masters was using to his advantage. His body build also gave him considerable leverage with the management.

Week after week, some superstar or the other came to take the Masters challenge, only to tap out or be rendered unconscious by the submission move.

He began a feud with Michaels wherein Michaels fought against the grip of the Masters Lock. This feud was instrumental in putting Masters over as a heel during his initial WWE run.

#2 Diesel

Friendship turned sour

Diesel was the first and original Shawn Michaels bodyguard. Like all partnerships, theirs too ended and Diesel even defeated Michaels to retain his WWE Championship at Wrestlemania.

But inspite of all the drama their partnership and their break up created, it was pretty clear all along that Kevin Nash didn’t have a diverse moveset. He was simply a big guy with a certain screen presence.

Their feud was good enough to cover up the flaws and their match at Wrestlemania inspired Kevin owens to become a wrestler.

#1 Khali

Khali looked a million bucks with HBK

Yes, Shawn Michaels faced Khali once upon a long, long time and really struggled to wrestle the giant. Khali still had a better reputation as a wrestler then than he did in the last few years. The guy could barely walk properly and balance himself in the ring. Yet, it was in the midst of his push that Michaels faced him and sold all his moves arduously.

Michaels , the veteran, had to play an underdog and he did it well. It was in the midst of The Great Khali push. All Khali was doing in that match was clotheslining, kicking and pushing the veteran. Khali was expressionless and had no wrestling skills and yet he came out of the match looking strong.

Kudos to Michaels and J.R. on commentary.
