WWE Extreme Rules 2015: 3 Possible endings for John Cena vs. Rusev match

WrestleMania 31 saw the WWE version of Rocky IV when Rusev and John Cena locked horns for the United States Championship.Cena came out winning the championship with no surprise what so ever and even got a sixth move to his name during the match. Rusevs faith is pretty much sealed as things stand now but for since he had a rematch clause in his contract, WWE is going to let him have another go at the Cenation leader. The match will take place in WWEs next pay-per-view venture, Extreme Rules and though things wont be exciting as the last time around, we still have a championship match on our hands. So here is a look at the three possible ways in which the Cena vs. Rusev match could end at Extreme Rules.

#3 Breakup complete

One of the biggest take away from the Cena vs. Rusev match at WrestleMania was Cena’s spring board stunner. One another big take away from the match was the friction that was there between Rusev and Lana. From the looks of it, Rusev blamed Lana for the loss he suffered at WrestleMania and this might hint at a breakup between the two.

There are also rumors about Vince McMahon plotting big things for Lana and if that is the case, then the creative team could end the Rusev – Lana on screen relationship at Extreme Rules. After Cena and Rusev puts together a match, Lana could act as an interference to make Rusev lose again. In the post –match sequence, Rusev could attack Lana for the same which would then turn Lana face.

So at the end of the day, we have a champion Cena, frustrated Rusev, and a babyface Lana, not bad is it?

#2 The finish that would save Rusevs career

Rusev’s career is destined to doom, period. WWE is going to turn Rusev into a comedy act soon and within no time; he would be out of the company and end up as Rusevander or something in TNA. All these are bound to happen if Cena retains the United States Championship at Extreme Rules.

But what if Rusev wins? This changes the entire picture and Rusev would be back in the right limelight. He would be a credible midcard champion and will no longer have the burden of being undefeated as Cena already did that at WrestleMania. It is an exciting prospect for the fans but more importantly, it is an ending that could save the career of Rusev.

He has some impressive wrestling skills for his size and deserves another go as the United States champion.

#1 Cena (WWE Creative) buries yet another

All the Cena fans out there are going to see this as an attempt to defame their favorite superstars while the Cena haters are going to see this as the ultimate truth. In reality, it is neither. It is not Cena that buries the superstar but instead it is the storyline that does the trick.

Cena does what he is told to do and one has to respect the workaholic nature of the champ. On the bigger picture, this ending, a clean win for Cena would destroy everything that WWE did for the Bulgarian Brute right from the start.

He will struggle to remain relevant once he loses clean to Cena and though Cena will find someone more interesting to feud with, this will go down in history as the match that pushed Rusev’s career downhill if this ending materialize.
