WWE NXT 10th February 2016 - 5 Points to Note

Corbin’s match kicked off the show

The NXT Women’s title was on the lineIt is always great to look forward to a Bayley match in the main event for the NXT Women’s Title.Even if you have someone comparatively less experienced as Carmella as the number one contender, The Hugster makes you believe that this match won’t disappoint, and as is the trend, it did not.Bliss and Corbin impressed as well in an episode in which there were only a few performers who disappointed and one of them is Elias Samson, even more than the Hype Bros. The main event delivered in an awesome way.So here are the 5 points to note from this week’s show-

#5 The lone guy out

Corbin’s match kicked off the show

Baron Corbin’s match against Johnny Gargano kicked off the show and it was a showcase of The Lone Wolf in all his arrogant glory.

It wasn’t an easy squash. Graves told the narrative of the match so well that it gave some depth to Corbin’s character and what’s going on in his mind. He’s bothered that he is not in the title picture anymore and Graves’s commentary gave some more meaning to what can now be deemed as an indignant performance.

Gargano was impressive even though Corbin was more dominant.

#4 Blissful future

Bliss on her way to a victory

Alexa Bliss faced Cameron and it just went on to show how well the former’s character has grown. She’s becoming one of the most must-see performers and heels in the show and her ‘Sparkle Splash’ is a beautiful move which she executes to the tee.

Cameron, on the other hand, is still green in the ring and that was the major flaw coming out of this match. Since she hasn’t had many matches as of yet, she still has time to improve. Although Bliss looks like the best heel since Sasha Banks to win the NXT title in the future.

#3 No big deal yet

Samson has a long, long way to go,

Elias Samson’s array of squash matches have been the least interesting aspect of WWE’s best show. His gimmick seems like a long shot away from being over and his wrestling style pretty much boasts of only a few uninventive strikes.

The Full Sail arena – which has seen a lot in terms of talent – Samson’s presence can be easily be believed to fizzle out soon. The crowd wasn’t buying into anything he was doing and it seems, he may just be booed for how boring his character is and not a signal of him being over as a heel.

#2 Great effort

Carmella was very impressive in her match

On a normal day, you may not call Carmella one of the better wrestlers of NXT, but her latest match against her best friend Bayley was arguably her best work till date.

And in a way, it was hugely expected since many performers have upped their level of performance when facing Bayley for the title she holds. The suicide dive by Carmella and the way she tried to lock Bayley in her submission move – albeit unsuccessfully – was quite thrilling to watch.

Bayley did not win authoritatively with her finishing move, but it took a plethora of roll up covers to finally earn a victory. Perfect main event for NXT this week.

#1 Enter the Wild Card

Asuka made it clear she’s eyeing Bayley’s title.

The main event turned out to be even better when Eva Marie and Nia Jax decided to intervene and attack Carmella. Bayley came to her friend’s aid but she obviously was overwhelmed by the numbers game.

That led Asuka to make her way to the ring. Jax and Marie backed off pretty easy and then we had the first of a kind face-off between Asuka and Bayley. It was as momentous as one could have hoped for and was a very resounding way to make it clear that Asuka was coming for the title sooner or later.

But first, it seems Asuka will be going through Jax and Marie before getting to Bayley.
