This week for NXT was one of those few days where most of the night doesn’t add up to what may be considered as a great episode. There was certainly a lot of energy in the air and the main event, again, for many straight weeks in a row delivered the best moments of the night.Sami Zayn and Rhyno probably had the best parts to play for this episode of WWE’s developmental arena. There were a few disappointments too, something very unlikely but not unexpected, coming from NXT.Here are the 5 points to note from this weeks show-

#5 More Blue pants, please!

During her match against the very hyped Dana Brooke, the crowd obviously chose to side with Blue Pants, who is a convincing babyface with a very likeable personality.

Dana Brooke was quite stiff in the ring and it obviously seems like she has a long way to go before even being considered decent.

Blue Pants is not a regular on NXT but she should be. She is one of the most popular babyfaces and there is definitely a great story there somewhere and if there is anything we’ve learnt over the years, fans vouch for comic book nerds. Most of Blue Pants gimmicks over the years in the indy circuit has revolved around dressing up as comic book characters.

#4 Still a bodybuilder

Speaking of Dana Brooke, how green in the ring was she? And on top of that she got to defeat such a popular babyface like Blue Pants. The audience were not really a fan of the bodybuilder.

After weeks of hype surrounding her, Dana Brooke surely disappointed. This may or may not come as a surprise. Brooke’s performance wasn’t memorable for the right reasons.

It is a travesty to see someone so popular and so talented being used to put beginners like Brooke over.

But since it is developmental, anything could happen and Brooke still can work on skills and improve.

#3 Adios, Parker.

This show was taped more than a couple of weeks ago. CJ Parker asked for his release and was granted the same on March 31st. So this episode entailed his last appearance ever in NXT. For what it was worth, his heel character was really catching on and yet it seems reasonable that he left considering that he was in the company for almost 4 years and it is but natural to consider yourself stuck in developmental.

Anyway, he lost to Solomon Crowe in his last match and will surely be missed. Don’t forget that awesome tweet he wrote about wishing WWE the best in THEIR future endeavours.

#2 How You Doin?

Enzo Amore and Colin cassidy have long been one of the most over acts in NXT. They are so popular that the audience willfully ignore their limited performances in the ring. The energy, the promos, the catchphrases- you just can’t teach that.

Amore and Colin Cassidy, if and whenever theymake their debut, should become the mainstay of the tag division. That hardcore fans will just lap it up. Their promos are simply electric!

You just have to know how over they are when the Raw after Wrestlemania sees a terrible main event and people start making their chants. ‘How You Doin’ was one of the most heard chants of the night.

#1 Over to the main event

This main event was not as great as many other main events in NXT history but when considering all main events in NXT history one has to agree that Sami Zay has been in most of them and we expect nothing but the best from the most over superstar in NXt right now. This week he faced Rhyno and became part of another well- worked main event match. Many might think that Rhyno’s still got it but actually it seems that age hasn’t worn him down at all. He looked very comfortable in his role and brought the gore to the fore.

In the end, Zayn survived and thrived.

What makes Sting special? His first AEW opponent opens up RIGHT HERE.
