Top 5 WWE rumours of the week and analysis: 15 March, 2015

The rumors mill is back in action and as usual, the speculations range from ‘utterly ridiculous’ to ‘that would be awesome’. It would not take a genius to figure out that most of the rumors of this week works around WrestleMania since we are hardly two weeks away from the extravaganza.Everything from potential winners to the planned entrances of WrestleMania was up for debate in the internet this week and it is hard to blame fans for the same. The possibility of WWE signing a highly rated Independent tag team made the fans drool this week. If the deal materializes, it will be a landscape-changer in the tag team division unless Vince McMahon screws things up. With that said, here is a look at the top rumors of the week and their analysis.

#5 Vince McMahon and Brock Lesnar still not on the same path

The talks between Vince McMahon and Brock Lesnar for a contract extension after WrestleMania is apparently going nowhere are McMahon planned. Both men are light years away from being on the same page and this might lead to the potential departure of Lesnar from the company.

Vince is afraid of Lesnar jumping ships to UFC since the fans will start seeing UFC as a direct competition to WWE even if it isn’t. Lesnar, on the other hand, doesn’t want to reduce any of his demands.

If Lesnar doesn’t sign the new deal, it will be a big blow for the company as it makes the WrestleMania main event predictable. Who knows we might even get to see a WrestleMania Screwjob if McMahon decides so.

#4 Briscoes could be headed for NXT

Jay Briscoe and Mark Briscoe, collectively known as the Briscoes might be making their way into the WWE soon. Highly rated in the independent circuit, the duo has had a lot of experience in various promotions like Ring of Honor, PWG, CZW and many more.

They are eight time ROH tag champions and were voted the tag team of the year by Wrestling Observer Newsletter back in 2007. Apart from the tag team brilliance, Briscoes are also impressive in the singles circuit as well.

Jay is the current Ring of Honor World Champion and if signed up, the team is sure to add depth to the roster and make the stale tag team division of WWE a bit more interesting.

#3 Sheamus and Undertaker will not show up till WrestleMania

The hopes of WWE Universe about seeing some major returns before WrestleMania came crashing down this week when the rumor broke out about how the company is delaying them all the way to the pay-per-view.

Sheamus and Undertaker, who are scheduled to be a big part of WrestleMania was expected to be back in the WWE programming before Mania but as things stand now, they will only be back in time for the show.

The Celtic warrior is rumored to be the favorite to win Andre the Giant Battle Royal and go on to have a solid heel run. Taker, on the other hand, will face Bray as we all know and will have the WrestleMania XX type return this year as well.

#2 Grand entrances for WrestleMania

One thing that goes hand in hand with WrestleMania is grand entrances. We’ve seen a lot of similar outings in the past and WrestleMania 31 looks set to steal the show as well. From the rumors, Sting, Triple H, Rusev, Bray Wyatt and Undertaker may have specially designed entrances for the pay-per-view.

Rusev is expected to come out with actors dressed as Russian soldiers while either Bray Wyatt or Sting would have the luxury of using scare crows in their entrance.

There is no rumor on what the company is planning for Hunter and Taker at the moment but since they have been giving the veterans something and all every year, we’ll hear the rumor mills buzzing sooner or later.

#1 WrestleMania winners

WWE has piled up seven matches so far for WrestleMania 31 and the Internet is buzzing about the superstars who are most likely to go out of the pay-per-view as winners. In the main event, Roman Reigns is the favorite to triumph against Brock Lesnar.

Elsewhere, Cena is rumored to defeat Rusev for the United States Championship when the dream scenario of Bray Wyatt getting a win over Undertaker is a long shot this year. Triple H will also be putting over Sting at the show and we might get to see a Sting vs. Taker showdown next year at Mania since both men are probably getting wins this year.

There is no speculation on who will win the Intercontinental championship and it would surely be the most unpredictable match when WrestleMania hits the Levi’s stadium on March 29.
