WWE Top 5 rumours of the week and analysis: July 19, 2015

NXT Divas at Raw

StingAlmost all the WWE fans out there are excited about Battleground. The pay-per-view found new life with the Undertaker rumors and looks all set to produce some surprises. This, however, did not affect the weekly rumors. The rumor mill had other topics to discuss. SummerSlam, WrestleMania. and the surprise returns were just a handful of topics from that long list.A shocking agreement between two major wrestling promotions was suggested by the rumors and if it turns out to be true, then it might change the way we see WWE. With that said, here is a look at the top rumors of this week and their analysis.

#5 Reason for calling up the NXT Divas

NXT Divas at Raw

WWE fans were excited to see the NXT divas take over last week. Sasha Banks, Charlotte and Becky Lynch made a huge impact with their debut and are all set to carry forward the momentum. But ever wondered why WWE allowed the divas to debut at this point of time?

It is a messed up situation to be frank. WWE wants to capitalize on the FIFA Women’s World Cup which was won by the United States team. If the rumour is indeed true, then the new divas would have a tough time on the longer run. WWE officials are happy about how Stephanie McMahon pulled off the segment and we can expect her involvement further down the lane as well.

#4 Ronda Rousey still planned for WrestleMania 32

Ronda Rousey

While UFC president Dana White is denying the involvement of Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 32, WWE is still going ahead with their plans. They are looking to have a match between Ronda and Stephanie McMahon at the pay-per-view and have received a positive response from Ronda. She is really excited by the prospect of appearing at WrestleMania.

This could lead to an all-out war between UFC and WWE. There were rumours of WWE trading Brock Lesnar to secure Ronda Rousey, but those speculations were immediately shot down. Things will probably clear up in the coming weeks and wrestling fans will hopefully get what they want for WrestleMania.

#3 Monster Kane to return

Kane

Kane was taken out by Brock Lesnar last week on Raw. The Big Red Monster will be taking some time off from WWE television to sell the injury and is expected to return as a babyface monster. The way in which Seth Rollins delivered the promo on Raw suggested the same. Kane returning as a babyface would be a fresh turn for his career.

There is no news on whether he will wear the mask or not but we are bound to see a full blown turn from Kane. It would be interesting to see how WWE uses him afterwards since Rollins will be busy with the championship feud. The chances of Kane being ready for SummerSlam are low as well.

#2 WWE and Ring of Honor in underground talks

AJ Styles

This was hands down the most shocking rumour of the week. NXT and Ring of Honor are apparently in talks to have a working relation with each other. If the deal goes ahead, we could get to see talent exchanges between the two promotions. Names like AJ Styles, Briscoes, Maria and many others, who frequently appear in Ring of Honor, could appear in NXT as part of the deal.

The motivation of WWE to come up with such a deal is still a mystery. The prospect of talent exchange is interesting but then again, WWE rarely mentions other promotions and this is a full blown deal. So we cannot be sure about what WWE is actually planning.

#1 Both Undertaker and Sting to be at SummerSlam

Undertaker

WWE fans are in for a treat at SummerSlam. First of all, the Undertaker rumours emerged on the web and secondly, there was a buzz about Sting. Although it would be easy to assume that Undertaker and Sting will be competing in a match at the pay-per-view, WWE has other plans.

They are planning to have two separate matches for Undertaker and Sting. The opponents of these two legends are still yet to be revealed and we could get a clearer picture after Battleground or the Raw after it. The initial plans that WWE had for Sting has been scraped right now since his supposed opponent picked up an injury. So we are going to get a backup plan and it might be more exciting than the original one.
