Who should Seth Rollins face upon his return to the ring?

Owens vs Rollins – Epicness gaurenteed

Rollins’ is return feud is the million dollar question at the momentSeth Rollins teased us all about a potential face turn once he returns to the ring following knee surgery. Now that the former WWE World Champion is on the mend, fans will see just how important the superstar is and was to the company during his seven-month stretch as the towel boy for The Authority and one of the best performers the company had. Also read: Seth Rollins: 5 ways the babyface can become the next CM punkAccording to reports all over news outlets, the surgery on Rollins’ knee went smoothly and he should make a full recovery. That is great news for WWE officials and fans. Rollins was as close to a Shawn Michaels-type star we have seen in a long time. Now, with the movement to get past the loss of a great champion and into a mode of new opportunity, what happens to Rollins once he returns to action?Yes, there is going to be a face turn? Yes, this was expected and had not happened yet? Yes, it was discussed with Vince McMahon as a potential outcome for Survivor Series, but it was nixed by the owner and Chairman of the Board. For all the pops Rollins got from the crowds in matches with Dean Ambrose and John Cena, they should be that much greater once he returns to the ring in August or September. A SummerSlam return, by the way, would be epic!I know you are thinking about it, just like I am. Who will the “Architect” face upon his return? Never fear, my friends. Here are four opponents Rollins could work with once he gets back in the ring.

#1 Kevin Owens

Owens vs Rollins – Epicness gaurenteed

I loved the conversation between the two the night Owens teamed with Rollins against Roman Reigns and his Survivor Series teammates.

A potential WrestleMania match between these two would be epic. It actually can happen, just not at the event in April.

Owens is the future of this company and someone I think would make an outstanding babyface. The only issue with it, his antagonistic style is perfect for the heel role. Owens size and agility makes him as unique as any performer to step in a WWE ring.

The fact he got the call up to the big show and outperformed John Cena from the moment he challenged the company face proves he can hold his own in the ring. What would happen if Owens becomes Triple H’s hand-picked successor to Rollins, leading to a feud to be decided at Survivor Series next year?

That would tear the roof off the arena.

#2 Bray Wyatt

Rollins vs Wyatt – The feud with limitless possibilites

The great thing about Wyatt is that no matter who he faces, there is magic in the ring.

The bad thing here is, Wyatt has faced all the major babyfaces in WWE and now, he must hunt long and hard to find the right opponent. Before too long, it isn’t going to matter whether Wyatt’s foes are liked or disliked by the WWE faithful. For fans of action, that is a good thing.

Wyatt is a superstar who does not need a title to be successful. Given the fact Rollins had to relinquish the belt and may not be in the immediate plans to regain what he never lost, an angle with Wyatt be profitable for both superstars.

Rollins has always been the bully. What happens when he is being bullied and how will the fans support him in a program with arguably the most popular heel to come along in years, maybe even decades.

Who would come to Rollins’ aid if he were to be confronted by all the members of The Authority? This angle has endless possibilities.

#3 Samoa Joe

Rollins vs Joe is an indie fanboys dream come true

By the time Rollins returns, it is a good bet Samoa Joe will not only be on WWE’s main roster, but he should be a serious title threat.

He could also be the new leader of the Authority, should that angle still be part of WWE programming. Another angle might be if Joe allied with Paul Heyman (just putting it out there) and Rollins becomes the new babyface to stop the madness.

Joe and Rollins in a match is one of those dream collisions. It conjures images of independent wrestling or could have the same impact of a Joe vs. Austin Aries match in TNA. Whatever the situation, this is the kind of match fans want to see.

High impact with lots of opportunity for the creative team to go back to it time and time again.

WWE and professional wrestling does not have many feuds it can rely on to bring back instant excitement. Rollins and Dean Ambrose can do that. So could this feud, if given the chance.

#4 Triple H

The showdown between the mentor and the protege

This was supposed to happen and never did. I believe there was a plan for the COO of WWE to turn his back on his hand-chosen leader of the new WWE and it was never taken to the next level.

This time, it could happen and yes SummerSlam could be the venue.

Can you image Rollins returning to the company, all jazzed about being reunited with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, only to be rejected by his mentor? This is a wrestling angle that has proven to work through the ages and should be just as effective now.

Triple H proved he was still able to get in the ring and work, as proven by the fact he has worked the last two WrestleMania events.

For there to be closure to this angle, the men must meet in the ring.
