Kevin Owens is awesome at his job. He is one of the best promos in the world, a great wrestler and does incredibly well for his size. As we all know, the Money in the Bank PPV is one of the biggest WWE shows of the year outside of the big four.

The main attraction on the show is definitely the Money in the Bank match where the superstars compete to win the Money in the Bank briefcase. Kevin Owens has been in the last three Money in the Bank matches, and although he has been one of the favorites to win every year, he is yet to come out on top.

Owens may have been a great choice to win the contract in previous years but this year, he is the perfect choice to win and here are three reasons why:

#3. To tease fake cash-ins

Teased cash-ins are awesome

Just to be clear, he would need to turn heel. Winning the match and being the scumbag with the briefcase is the perfect role for him.

Teased cash-ins are one of the best things in WWE. Any random episode of Raw can instantly be made 100 times more exciting by teasing a cash in and making the fans in attendance think they are about to see a world title change happen.

Fans will be excited to know that at any moment the champion is in the ring at any show, a title change could occur. While it is unlikely, it could happen. Teasing fans that Owens will cash in only for the babyface he is feuding with at the time to come to the ring and stop it from happening is a great way to tease the fans.

And after every time they tease it the fans will either want it to happen more or want him to lose more as the heel in the story.

#2 To cash in at a big show

The best Money in the Bank cash in of all time is widely considered to be Seth Rollins cashing in at WrestleMania 31 in the main event and winning the WWE Championship. He cashed in as a heel and held the briefcase for a while before cashing in.

Having Owens run with the briefcase be similar to Rollins with him holding it for a while and then cashing in at a big event to stop a babyface from winning the title would be perfect. A huge event like Survivor Series, Royal Rumble or especially WrestleMania would make the cash in even more special. Ruining a big babyface moment would create instant heel heat and set up a big title match for him.

And also, WWE would always have Owens as their get out of bad booking free card with him able to cash in at any time.

#1 To Cash In On Sami Zayn

The Yep Movement could be destroyed

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are of course best friends turned bitter enemies turned best friends again. Kevin and Sami formed a greatly entertaining heel act in 2017 but both of them getting injured halted things.

With Owens coming back as a babyface and presumably still being Sami's friend this would have to work a little weird. If Sami stayed on Raw and was a babyface like Kevin they could still be buddies without teaming or being on TV together.

Sami could feud with the Universal Champion and win the title. Now I'm aware this is wishful thinking but we all know how good he is and he would be an amazing champion as a babyface or a heel.

With all PPV's being co-branded now Kevin could cash in on his best friend and turn heel while winning the title in what would be a shock given that he would be on the other brand.

This could lead to the pair feuding and having a number of big matches which literally couldn't be bad. A main event world title feud between these two amazing performers is reasons enough to give Owens the briefcase come May this year.
