5 ways Triple H can be involved in the brand split

Triple H has recently been in the WWE as part of The Authority

Triple H hasn’t been seen on WWE programming since this year’s fateful Wrestlemania 32, when he lost his WWE Championship to Roman Reigns. The arrival of Shane McMahon to Monday Night Raw has made his absence even more conspicuous.

The Authority seems to have dropped off the face of the earth leaving a solitary Stephanie to battle it out with her brother for control over WWE.

Triple H’s absence was called into focus again when Vince came on last week’s Raw and announced that Stephanie and Shane were going to be the commissioners of Raw and Smackdown respectively after the brand split.

With so much going on at WWE, one can only wonder what Triple H’s role will be once the brand split takes place.

Hardcore fans of the franchise are aware of his involvement with NXT and other talent development programmes across the globe, but is that going it to be it for the Cerebral Assasin?

#5 Triple H stays behind the scenes

Will Triple H be happy with a backstage role in NXT?

Triple H may have been a heel his entire career but the man knows how to draw fans in. With the brand split underway and Stephanie and Shane in focus, what is Triple H’s role going to be in all of this?

At present, it seems like he will have no part to play at all.

Triple H is the man behind the success of NXT and the recent Cruiserweight Classic (CWC) has been his brainchild too.

It’s entirely possible he will stick to talent development for now and his defeat at Wrestlemania was a way of giving him that out.

#4 Stephanie chooses Triple H as her GM

Will Triple H aide Stephanie in running Monday Night Raw?

Vince may have named his two children as the commissioners of Raw and Smackdown, but he definitely didn’t leave it at that.

He ordered Stephanie and Shane to choose a General Manger by next week or he’d choose one for them. Now, while most might be at a loss to guess who Shane’s GM will be, Stephanie’s choice seems a little simpler.

With the Authority’s recent success at running Raw, Stephanie is most likely to choose her husband, Triple H as her GM. This is WWE’s chance to revisit The Authority storyline since it seems to have been just dropped without any conclusion.

#3 Triple H fights Shane for absolute control over WWE

There’s never been any love lost between the McMahon siblings

Triple H might not be in the thick of things for the brand split and may not appear anytime soon either but let’s not rule out any possibilities of his involvement. It may not happen now or even in six months, but somewhere down the line, a time will come when Stephanie and Shane’s rivalry will reach such a height, one of them will want absolute control of WWE.

And that’s where Triple H comes in.

If Stephanie and Shane are going to fight it out for control, it could well end with a match between Shane and Triple H at a PPV event.

#2 Triple H vs Seth Rollins

Best of friends, worst of enemies?

Seth Rollins was The Authority’s go to guy before his injury but things have changed since his return.

Triple H hasn’t been around of course and Stephanie’s reaction to his return was cool and stand-offish at best. He is no longer the boss’s favourite and his mentor-prodigy relationship with Triple H has definitely cooled off.

In spite of this, Rollins has continued to use the pedigree as his finishing move – something which only Triple H has patented with great success.

It only makes sense that if Triple H returns as a talent, it will be to fight Rollins and settle the score on who gets to use the pedigree. It could also be the chance the WWE need to turn either of them into a face from being a heel.

#1 Triple H starts a faction with NXT stars

Triple H with three of his more famous NXT stars

The success of NXT is entirely thanks to Triple H.

The quality of the talent and the show itself has been his doing. It’s only obvious that they would owe their loyalty to Triple H rather than Shane or Stephanie. So when the brand split takes place and wrestlers from NXT are drafted to Raw and Smackdown, don’t be surprised if Triple H takes some of them under his wing (read: Finn Balor) and form a faction with the newly promoted stars.

This is an outcome the writers of the show should definitely be looking at since it may add a new dimension to the WWE universe.
