5 WWE stars and their Suicide Squad equivalents

What if they were WWE Superstars?

Whether you loved or hated Suicide Squad, you simply couldn’t ignore it. Thanks to the group’s wild popularity amongst hardcore comic enthusiasts as well as the marketing blitz on the part of Warner Bros, Suicide Squad dominated verbal conversations and social media ones, months before it actually hit the silver screen.

Just like any other superhero film with a cult following, the opinions of critics and fans were in sharp contrast to each other, but the film as a whole left a lot to look forward to. With the hype of the film still refusing to die down, we’ve decided to match these rag-tag bunch of villains to their counterparts in the wrestling world.

Hence, without further ado, we present 5 WWE Superstars and their Suicide Squad equivalents.

Stone Cold (Joker)

A cocky, half insane individual messing around with a powerful billionaire; sounds familiar, doesn’t it? Well, that’s because ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin and the Joker’s personalities are nearly alike.

The fulcrum of WWE’s infamous ‘Attitude Era’, Stone Cold’s infamous war with Vince McMahon can be easily compared to the rivalry between Batman and the Joker, the only difference being that in Stone Cold’s case he usually came out on top and not vice versa.

Never one to back down from a fight, always up to tricks on his boss and capable of pulling off the most ingenious moves, Stone Cold would surely make Jared Leto’s Joker proud.

Brock Lesnar (Killer Croc)

Frighteningly tall, outrageously strong, a ferocious temper and a thick layer of impregnable skin, come to think of it we’re not sure whether we’re talking about Killer Croc or Brock Lesnar.

The similarities are surely chilling but unlike Croc, Lesnar doesn’t devour his victims, merely devouring their confidence while in the ring.

Besides his ferocity, The Beast Incarnate ticks all the checkboxes of Killer Croc including his maniacal strength, thick skin that’s almost immune to punches and last but not least his towering height.

If all the above factors don’t bring Killer Croc to mind then we don’t know what will.

John Cena (Rick Flag)

He loves the United States of America, the ladies swoon over his good looks, he’s incredibly strong, his leadership qualities are magnificent and his will power is second to none. John Cena is literally the real version of Joel Kinamann’s Rick Flag.

Besides being considered as the poster boy of WWE, just like Flag is widely recognized as the face and voice of the Squad, Cena is also distinctive for his patriotic fashion statements, just like Flag, who ‘breathes USA’.

And who can forget Cena’s love for the United States Marine Corps, with the wrestler incorporating dog tags and other such USMC items into his in-ring persona, much like Flag, who is an honourable soldier above anything else.

Chyna (Harley Quinn)

Chyna was certainly a one-off in the world of wrestling. She burst onto the wrestling scene at a time when the sport was totally dominated by men, but became a force to reckon with and carved a permanent niche for herself in WWE.

That’s Harley Quinn all over for you.

Harley, despite all her questionable love choices and downright craziness, was pretty much her own woman, always up for facing a challenge or battling a hoard of zombies spawned by a 6,000 year old witch for that matter.

Harley was undoubtedly one of the standout characters of the film, much like Chyna, who made even the most sceptical of critics sit up and take notice of her.

The Rock (Deadshot)

He’s got incredible wit, the gift of gab, a fearsome reputation amongst his rivals, and a hard as nails persona when in the ring, but a loveable attitude while interacting with fans. I ask you aren’t Floyd Lawton aka Deadshot's and The Rock’s personalities spitting images of each other?

Just as Will Smith’s Deadshot was considered as one of the best if not the best characters of the film, The Rock is also held in equally high regard by the fans, with his exploits during the early 2000’s catapulting him into global superstardom.

And who can forget The Rock’s irresistible skills on the mic, much like Deadshot, whose wisecracks almost rivalled his marksman skills.
