Backstage update on Lesnar vs Reigns, original plans for this year's SummerSlam & Night of Champions

Brock Lesnar after winning the WWE World Title at SummerSlam

With regards to recent rumors of Vince McMahon & Triple H having different opinions on who should face Lesnar at WrestleMania, Roman Reigns (Triple H's choice) or The Rock (Vince McMahon's choice), Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently noted that the idea of doing Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar was done either before or immediately after WrestleMania XXX. Plans can always change at anytime but it looks like Reigns will most likely get his title shot next year.

Regarding the original plans for SummerSlam & Night of Champions this year, it was planned such that Brock Lesnar would face Daniel Bryan for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship until Bryan got injured. The idea would have been that Lesnar returned to crush the hearts of fans with a reality check by defeating Bryan, continued his dominance and then Reigns would have saved the day and ended Lesnar’s reign.
