CM Punk reacts to AJ Lee leaving WWE, Jim Ross tweets

CM Punk responds to AJ Lee’s decision of leaving the WWE

A news that has shook and stunned the Wrestling world today was the retirement of AJ Lee from “in-ring competition” with WWE. Although, there have been speculations over this ever since CM Punk infamously walked out of the WWE after January 2014’s Royal Rumble Pay-per-view, This seems to have come out of nowhere, as there have been no rumblings of this on any wrestling media platform in the recent times.

There has also been speculation that AJ Lee knew she was leaving the WWE after WrestleMania as one of the fans in attendance noted how her post-match celebration with Paige was weird. It felt as if it was her last match. The two hugged for a while and AJ told Paige she loves her, which to most people didn't seem out of the way at the time but is interesting now.

As you all know, AJ Lee is married to former WWE superstar CM Punk (currently signed to UFC), who rose to stardom and became a fan favorite on the main WWE roster and remained a company fixture until his acrimonious departure in 2014.

Despite his prominence within the company, Punk was never selected to headline WWE's premier annual pay-per-view event, WrestleMania, which became a source of professional dissatisfaction.

CM Punk made a simple but telling comment on AJ Lee, his wife, leaving WWE. One would assume Punk had some type of influence on this situation, as there were reports of their separation recently too, when AJ unfollowed Punk on the Twitter.

Here is the Tweet by CM Punk today on AJ’s decision to retired from the WWE:

Plenty can be said in that simple hashtag. CM Punk is is obviously thrilled with his wife leaving the company that he “Despises”.

Former ringside announcer and Hall of Famer Jim Ross also gave his thoughts on AJ’s departure. Here’s what Ross tweeted.

Just like CM Punk’s famous pipebomb, who can forget AJ Lee’s pipebomb on the Divas’ division:

What makes Sting special? His first AEW opponent opens up RIGHT HERE.
