Flair special on ESPN, Lesnar - RAW, Cesaro & Kidd meet in injury

Wooo...ESPN!

- One of the most notable and insightful series on sports personalities, the “30 for 30” special by ESPN has for a while been in talks about doing one on legendary pro wrestler Ric Flair.

Since Flair is currently signed to the WWE and the company controlling all the footage pertaining to the career of the ‘Nature Boy’, it was uncertain how much of access would ESPN get.

However, the word is that the WWE chairman Vince McMahon has signed off on the archival footage that the channel needs for an authentic story on one of the most revered legends in wrestling history.

Ric Flair is reportedly said to have been interviewed for 4 hours, earlier this month, for the series and was also seen being filmed backstage at WWE Survivor series in Atlanta.

The piece is said to be comprehensive, covering the entirety of Flair’s career, his personal life, financial issues, Reid Flair’s death, the 1975 plane crash and more. However, the focus is expected to be on the 1980s when he was on top of the world as the NWA World Heavyweight champion, alongside the Four Horsemen.

- As noted earlier, the WWE RAW episode on December 21st , from Minneapolis, will feature the 2015 Slammy Awards as part of the WWE Week on the USA Network. Also expected on this show is the announcement that Wrestlemania 33 will be held in Minneapolis in 2017.

This development, if true, will mean that there is a high possibility that local star Brock Lesnar may be featured on the show to help hype the announcement.

- One of the most unexpected successes on WWE TV in recent times had to be the tag team of Cesaro & Tyson Kidd, two of the most talented performers in the WWE, being unexpectedly thrown together.

Their team brought a new lease of life into the stale division at the time, before it was cut short by an unfortunate injury to Kidd in a dark match with Samoa Joe. Just last week, his former partner sustained an injury himself and was put out of action.

As seen in the picture below, the team reunited over the weekend with Tyson’s wife Natalya able to capture a moment.
