For years a story about The Ultimate Warrior holding Vince McMahon and WWE for money has been doing the rounds. The Ultimate Warrior had asked for money at par with Hulk Hogan to participate in the SummerSlam 1991 pay-per-view, as he considered himself a star of equal stature. However, this led to the Warrior’s suspension right after the Summerslam, although he would still be in contract with the WWE till late 1992.
The letter which Warrior wrote to Vince demanding money, and Vince’s reply have surfaced online recently. Earlier stories had suggested that Warrior had demanded money at the weekend of SummerSlam, although these letters show that actually this happened about 7 weeks before it. Vince McMahon had at first agreed to the demands of Ultimate Warrior, but he later suspended him, right after the event.
