WWE News: Angelina Love interested in WWE Women's Tournament

Angelina Love is a former Knockouts Champion

There have been rumours for a while about a Women’s Tournament being hosted by the WWE similar to the Cruiserweight Classic. It seems that Angelina Love has been hearing word of it and the former six-time TNA Knockouts Champion wants in on it:

She got an overwhelmingly positive response from the fans, so she took to twitter to express her gratitude

Angelina Love would undoubtedly be a valuable addition to the tournament. Just two days back, the reports spread that WWE have already begun to contact female talents across the world to ensure they are available around January. They’ve also contacted another bunch of talents to ensure that their availability in March.

It appears that not only are they going forward with the tournament, but the schedules are already being planned out.

The rumours of a women's tournament began even before the Cruiserweight Classic had happened. The word then was that the tournament would happen depending on the success of the Cruiserweight Classic.

As it turned out, the Cruiserweight Classic was received tremendously and got an overwhelmingly positive response from the fanbase, that seems to have been the green flag for the WWE to go ahead with the Women’s tournament, which will premiere at some point in 2017 on the WWE Network.

Naturally, there won’t be a championship belt to be won this time, but there will certainly be a great trophy and a spot on the roster, whether it is on NXT or the main roster. It will also help build the NXT Women’s division.

Angelina took on the now-returning Mickie James a few years ago for The Knockouts Championship at TNA’s Slammiversary Pay-Per-View:
